The Space:
Hillsview Cottage by Tiny Away is located in the town of Taradale, just a 1-hour and 10-minute drive from Melbourne. Perched atop a hill, this tiny house offers breathtaking views of rolling hills, the original farmhouse, a dam, and striking granite outcrops—perfect for a refreshing countryside retreat.

Explore nearby attractions such as Castlemaine Botanical Gardens, Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve, Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, Hanging Rock, and the Cascade waterfalls.

A cozy 157-square-foot tiny home with a lofted queen-sized bed, easy access to water, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and bathroom facilities. These amenities include an eco-friendly cassette toilet with a removable waste holding tank, hand basin, and gas-heated shower—making it a perfect choice among relaxing holiday homes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This property features a loft-style sleeping area with a ladder. By booking this property, the host is not responsible for any accidents or injuries resulting from the use of the ladder.

Additionally, the tiny house runs on solar power. To conserve energy, we provide battery-operated lights and candles. High-power devices (e.g., hairdryers) are not supported.

Guest Access:
- Guests will have access to the tiny home and surrounding areas, except the old farmhouse cottage, as the floors are unstable and the roof is not secure.
- The only charging method available is via USB charger. We appreciate your understanding as this supports our preference for a low-energy, eco-friendly setup.

Hillsview Cottage by Tiny Away is a cozy tiny home in Taradale, about an hour’s drive from Melbourne. Set in a historic goldfields region, it offers a peaceful rural escape surrounded by natural beauty. The nearby town of Castlemaine features local arts and culture, making it a perfect base for exploring the Goldfields.

Explore nearby gems like Castlemaine Botanical Gardens with rare oaks and pines, relax at Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve, stroll through Daylesford’s Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens, admire Hanging Rock’s dramatic formations, and enjoy the woodland gardens at Forest Glade on Mount Macedon.

Getting Around:
By Car:

- Traveling from Melbourne to Taradale takes between 1 to 1.5 hours by car, and it is only a 45-minute drive from the Northern suburbs.
- The distance from Taradale to Malmsbury is 8.6 km, while Taradale to Kyneton is 17 km.
- Taradale to Castlemaine is a short 14 km drive.

By Public Transport:

- There is a train that travels to both Kyneton and Malmsbury from Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. However, public transport options in the area are very limited.

By Flight:

- The nearest major airport to Taradale is Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), which is approximately 1 to 1.5 hours away by car.
- From the airport, you can rent a car or arrange for other transportation to reach Taradale.

- Wifi is not available
- Gas BBQ Grill is available
- Smoking is allowed on the property
- No pets are allowed on the property
- Kindly ensure gates are closed after use
- No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed
- Mobile reception has good signals for Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone
- Due to the nature of the property, wildlife may be present on the property.
- We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge
- Please note that there are livestock on the property, and noise may occur. A Maremma dog protects the animals and may bark if there are foxes nearby

- Outdoor firepits are provided, except during the fire season
- Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present in the surrounding areas
- To maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilet a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more. We appreciate your cooperation in ensuring a hygienic experience during your stay.
