This was the most moldy room I have ever entered. That being said, I've stayed in some pretty moldy and smelly rooms in Florida before. This was by far the worst. After a half hour of being in the room, my face started swelling up and I could audibly hear and feel my heart beating. I decided I could not stay here, and luckily even though it was late, I was able to catch an Uber to a much nicer hotel on Key Largo. The photos in the listing look nice, but the signs of water damage are visible in the peeling and black moldy drywall tape. The AC unit is also dirty with the rotary fan being coated in black mold. I would guess that this room, being on the first floor, only feet from the water, has been very wet each hurricane season. I called management that night and they offered me a full refund. Several weeks later, I was able to get that refund after going back and forth with Expedia's support, so it all worked out in the end, lesson learned.
