Swing bridge on the walk to the natural bridge
On the way to check out The falls, this was another spot off. Another maybe 10min walk from the where you park. It had started to rain and got overcast, so it was quite dark when I was there... But I had the place entirely to myself and even w/o much light it was very beautiful.
About a half hour drive outside of Waitomo, is this beautiful waterfall. It's about a 10min walk from where you park, so pretty easy. If you love waterfalls like I do, it was a no brainer to check it out. I didn't stay long though as it started to rain.

The stay was fantastic. Amazing scenery and really in the absolute middle of nowhere. Nearest town was around 40 minutes away which was perfect for us. Beautiful river right off the back door and mountains all around. A quick and easy drive to one of the black-sand beaches.

Arrived early and room wasn’t ready. Had to rush back after seeing sites before reception closed for night. No dining options of interest around.

We got the ship room, with balcony - quirky but very dated. The lower part of the boat is quite humid - at night you must close all windows unless you want milllion bugs in your room, so no way to sit outside and enjoy the stars but during the day the views are so pretty. The room felt damp and smelt musky. The property required maintenance and updating. Fun for little kids. Power point for tv a worry, with cords not safely plugged in
