”It was kind of janky the doors we're in rough shape you couldn't get into the workout room the pool was was cold and smelled like a bleach factory that it was burning your eyes the beds were terrible you could hear people in the hallway all night slamming doors yelling”

”This was my third stay at The Principal Hotel. The history of this property is unique and the rooms are amazing - essentially in brand-new condition and very tastefully designed and decorated. I've eaten at the adjoining restaurant, the Graphite, on one occasion. Amazing food! (When the Graphite is closed on Mondays, I eat at the Thai House restaurant within blocks of the hotel. ”Rooms were filthy, trash behind headboards, dirty sheets on pull out sofa bed, shower was dirty, no toliet paper in bathroom, dirty diaper and popcorn spilled all in elevators. Room smelled terrible of Marijuana when we entered. When we arrived our door to our room was open and unlocked. The trash had not even been taken out. ”First time in the St. louis area & staying at this hotel. The property was in a great little location that wasn’t overly far from St. louis. The staff were lovely and very kind. Our room actually go upgraded for free as well as a free beverage due to my expedia status (i’ve done lots of traveling but have never had this before). ”Hotel itself was fine. Floors in our room were a little gritty to the point where I noticed dirt accumulating in the corners and I needed to clean my feet off before putting my socks on. My biggest complaint was after paying $250 for one night, we were billed another $14 for “amenities” at check out. What amenities??? We were here a grand total of 15 hours and there wasn’t even a complimentary bottle of water in our room??! ”
