”Really nice property and very helpful staff. Area around the hotel is pretty, with lots of places to sit and watch the geese. Rooms are okay--be sure to get a "suite" or a double, as the single rooms are very small. Bathing facilities are pretty rudimentary--could use a shower seat or a bathtub. "Breakfast" is weak coffee and orange or apple juice.”

”I had a very late arrival because of long travel and the Owner graciously met me after the hotel had closed and gave me my key. This is east of Yale by about half an hour drive and I stayed here for Yale graduation. The room was large, clean, and spacious, and there was adequate parking. The premises felt safe for a lady solo traveler. Would highly recommend, especially for any Yale function because it is an easy drive, very findable. Many thanks to the Owner!”

”We loved staying at this property! It was cute, clean and came stocked with snack foods, shampoo, conditioner and many other things you may have forgot! Raj and his family were lovely! The beach is close but I would not recommend walking to it, as it is off a busy road with no side walks. The beach Raj sent us to was lovely and private. Please be careful when going, as only a small portion is for the public and the owners of the private portion will let you know if you are on their property....

”Lamplighter Motel is a nice stay. It has the basics required and they let you know at check in that they won't be cleaning your room during your stay. This was fine for us. Very clean, comfortable beds, basic bathroom and our room even had a small refrigerator. Room also has cable tv and the shower was great. The check in was easy and the lady at the desk was very nice. The price was great so if you're looking for high end or extra amenities stay somewhere else and pay for that. This was perfect...
