Wasn’t the best experience

I booked this house for my family. overall, the space itself is great for a large group. we fit comfortably and we had a great time. the owner of the house was communicative up until the check in date. they explained everything well and the issues began when we got to the house. for one, the door code did not work, i had to get in through the side door with the keys in the lockbox. when we got inside the house was not as clean as we expected it to be. the trash in the backyard had not been taken out there were beer boxes and the whole bin was full of garbage. there was no shampoo, no soap, no toilet paper in the bathrooms. the air hockey was broken, there was no tv in the basement as advertised, there was an empty beer bottle left in the bath tub in one of the bedrooms. the owner failed to inform us that our cars needed to be registered at the welcome center 6 mins from the house. the second car had an issue and we needed to wait almost an hour for the owner to call and resolve the issue to let the last 2 cars check in. we had family members waiting at the welcome center for almost an hour because the owner did not have our cars registered? debbie was helpful and willing to resolve our issues. We did not get 6 free passes, we had to pay for everyone’s pool pass. the owner sent the wrong address so we drove to the wrong pools/lakes. Definitely wish the owner was more organized and responsible.

Great Stay!

The host was very responsive and communicative. The property was very nice and well furnished. Great living room and outdoor space- enjoyed the bedding and ambiance. Debbie was very helpful and made the check in and check out process very smooth.

Do Not Rent This House!!!

I will start by saying I have rented many houses using VRBO and Homeaway prior to this rental. I understand these are vacation houses and I do not expect perfection, but I would appreciate cleanliness. There were many issues with this house. When we arrived, it looked like the lawn hadn't been moved in weeks if not 2 months. We found a broken chair leaning on the dining room table and the house is advertised to sleep 16, but there were only 12 chairs. I had to call Debbie 3 times to remind her to bring chairs so we could sit down to eat. There were empty beer cans in the house. There was garbage all over the backyard. The barbeque wasn't cleaned at all. We spent many hours cleaning out the grease and soaking the grates so we could use it. The chairs in the backyard were dirty. The fridge leaked. None of the games downstairs worked so I had to get batteries at the store. I found the foosballs in the upstairs drawer of a nightstand when we were leaving. We never got the air hockey table to work due to the loose wires. We were not able to get the second lazy boy chair to work on the NEW? couch. The oven shutoff in the middle of cooking multiple times. We were supposed to get 6 free passes to the pool. Debbie could not organize this. There were broken hangers in the closets. The bathrooms were not very clean. One of the showers did not work. Debbie told us to take off the filter. It was completely clogged. We ended up leaving a day early as were just fed up with the house.

Better Options for the Money, Unless You're Looking for a Rundown Frat House

Property is not as images look. All around the outside is littered with debris and trashiness from rusting bikes to VHS tapes and more. Not the backyard view I want. The main floor was horded with ants, and not cleaned to basic hotel standards. We spent 2 hours on arrival cleaning surfaces, sweeping and removing grime on the appliances and barrier guarding the house from ants. Not to mention vacuuming the carpeted areas that looked like they haven't been vacuumed in weeks. When we called the cleaning person and expressed our disappointment she wasn't very helpful and commented "aww, don't kill the ants they need to live too" -- are you kidding me?! Some images give off the impression of carpet, when in facts its colored concrete. There are holes throughout the house on walls indicating poor repair work. The carpentry maintenance of the house interior looks like they hire Joe Smoe to fix things. The deep cleaning you expect from renting a house for thousands is a joke! Looks like they've never shampooed the carpets, and debris and trashiness was under sofas and behind furniture. You cannot enjoy the fresh air cause half the screens of windows and the back porch are destroyed with holes which led to tons of mosquitoes/moths coming in. It rained and the basement game room started taking in water. And who the hell has a front door with no walkway?! We had to walk thru mudding grass to get in the house, only to discover the back door wasn't locked. No room for rest of review.
