South Swell Tofino formerly Blue Heron Waterfront home amid old growth cedars

South Swell (formerly Blue Heron Guest House) is a 3 bedroom custom built home overlooking Jensen's Bay in Tofino. Exceptional wood detailing, skylights, vaulted ceilings, private hot tub, outdoor hot water shower and gas fireplace.
Deck off main living area with propane BBQ.

An inlet waterfront retreat situated on 1.5 acres and an easy, 5 minute walk from South Chesterman Beach.

A seating area at water's edge is a great place enjoy a quiet cup of coffee in the early morning and a perfect vantage point for sighting eagles, herons and other bird species. Occasionally you may spot a bear foraging across the tidal flats.

Guest House includes a well stocked kitchen and pantry offering a wide variety of oils/vinegars & spices. Drip coffee maker (coffee and filters supplied), French press and espresso machine with beans grinder available.

Towering cedars complement the property. Nearby Chesterman Beach is ideal for surfing, exploring, beach combing, dog walks or an early evening stroll to take in the iconic West Coast sunsets.

Tofino is 5km away and accessed by road or a well maintained, paved, multi-use path. The path connects Tofino and the town of Ucluelet and provides ready access to beaches and Pacific Rim National Park.

Just up the road (1184 Pacific Rim Hwy) is a collection of shops for groceries, yoga, surf rentals, great local food (Wildside Grill & Tacofino), coffee/espresso/baked goods (The Tofitian) and chocolate .....Tofino style.

The town of Tofino is a short drive (5 km) so a car would be ideal. In summer, a free (and surfboard friendly!) shuttle service runs between Tofino and Cox Bay. You can hop on and off at several points along the route, including 2 stops close by.

This rental is perfect for a quiet retreat or family vacation - ideally suited for 4-6 guests.

Couldn’t have imagined a more perfect stay in Tofino. Beautiful beautiful home supremely comfortable beds and linens, a loaded kitchen, a quick walk to prime beach. Caught great waves for beginner surfers. Hot tub was a bonus and the cute morning coffee area overlooking an inlet that changed with the tides. We loved every minute and dream to return very soon

Everything about the house is incredible!I can’t think of anything negative !Lots of lovely touches such as beach towels , hot tub towels , blankets for outside , beach chairs A huge pile of fluffy bathroom towels ,Herbs and spices , I could go on forever …A great washing machine and dryer , probably better than the one you have at home !Games provided too The house is absolutely gorgeous and the view from the hot tub of trees all around you is a real treat . I’m not a hot tub fan , or rather I wasn’t until I came here ! I sat in it for hours , just listening to the birds and looking at the trees Kelly was so helpful and messaged me checking in and telling me about local events that were on. The chairs at the end of the property on the estuary were a lovely touch too We sat there every morning and last thing at night with a mug of tea , in total silence just enjoying the peace , we saw bears twice on the opposite side of the bay too while sitting there The best holiday home I’ve EVER stayed in and we will be back for sureThanks for sharing your home

Magical Tofino Property

My family of 4 spent 5 nights here and had the best time. The house was so comfortable and every little detail was thought of. Fully stocked kitchen, comfortable bedding, plenty of towels and blankets. And the hot tub was lovely in the evenings! We loved the area - ate some amazing food, surfed, hiked, went whale watching. It was our first time in Tofino and we would love to return again!

Family Getaway

This is our second time we have stayed at South Swell and we have loved it both times. Kelly and Bob are excellent hosts and are very good communicators. We forgot a bike lock and they left one on the porch for us when we arrived. The property is perfect for a family with teenagers and a dog. We will book again for sure!

Incredible Retreat

The Most Amazing Home

I'm not sure I can think of enough superlatives to describe this home. I travel full-time, so I stay in a lot of short-term rentals, and this one shines above the rest. The host has thought of everything a guest could possibly need and has provided it. The home is beautifully designed and stocked without feeling cluttered. There are several very nice mid-century modern furniture pieces. The beds are comfortable. The location is absolutely stunning. The home sits on a very quiet street, and the yard backs up to the inlet making for a perfect peaceful forest retreat. To sit out back and watch the sandpipers come in to hunt for dinner as the tide goes out is pure bliss. Highly recommend.

Spring Break Getaway

We had an amazing experience. We booked 5 nights for a family vacation with the grandkids. The property was perfect. It had all the amenities needed, even towels for the hot tub, which the girls loved. The place is perfectly located in a nice quiet semi secluded area with access to the beach. The beds were comfortable, everything was super clean and the kitchen was well stocked with everything needed to prepare simple meals, including. Cupboards of spices. We loved our stay and would not hesitate to book again. It’s perfect.

Simply Amazing

The owner has thought of everything to make her property a welcoming place to stay. From heated floors in bathroom, to fully stocked kitchen, there was not one thing I felt needed improving. Beyond this, from the patio overlooking the water, to the hot tub, to the seats by the water waiting for us so we could enjoy our morning coffee by the water, this is truly a wonderful place.

Amazing

Such an amazing stay. Place was clean and very beautiful. Close to the ocean and had some waterfront as well. Highly recommend. Me and 4 buddies stayed for 2 nights for a relaxing bachelor party and it was everything we expected and more.
