Laid-back Cabin in a great location
We were traveling with three adults and three kids under the age of seven. We really appreciated that this property felt very easy-going and laid-back. Nothing fussy or precious to worry about with the kids. Great location, very quick, three minute drive to the lake, walk to the park or downtown. It was very hot and although there is no AC in the cabin, there were plenty of fans in each room. It cooled off at night, and we slept with the windows open. The beds were all very comfortable, and the bedding was lightweight and cotton for the summer. There were some toys and books for the kids. We ate outside on the deck most evenings and it was beautiful. The owners are very easy to communicate with and get back to you right away. If you’re looking for simple accommodations in the Twain Harte area at a good price, this is your spot.

We enjoyed our stay in this home because it was convenient to visit with the people we came to Cali to meet. There is plenty of beds and rooms however a bit cluttered.I do not know how well the previous renters cleaned before we got there because it needed more cleaning especially the carpet & vacuum cleaner. Over all for the price point of location I'd recommend this property to others.

Fun family weekend
We had a great weekend at the cabin! Craig was awesome keeping us updated with weather conditions and was very helpful with any questions I had throughout the trip. The only downside to our trip was all of us sharing one bathroom (we had to go outside to access the extra bathroom and it was flooded from the storm) other than that everything was wonderful!! We would definitely recommend this cabin & the owners to anyone!!

Eleven daughters, granddaughter and 1 great grandson, 5 months old, stayed at the house and we took in Pioneer Woman facility up north, then went to Tulsa the next day!! Had a grand time, lots of laughing, playing games and good old fashioned talking!! The house was comfortable, had everything we needed and the mattresses were so comfortable, it was like sleeping on a cloud!! Thank you so much!!!

Cute cabin and near everything
We had a great time at the cabin. You have the option to get a cleaning service or clean yourself. If you choose the service you have to do it before the check in. We ended up cleaning ourselves, but it was not a lot of work anyways. The TV had access to services - very much appreciated by my kids :-)

Perfect Retreat to Nature
Up close Deer, squirrel, birds, trees, the whole nine! Loved the sounds, and/or silence of the area. Cabin has tons of seating in and out. Plenty of beds, lots of kitchenware, really close to town. Climate control keeps warm/hot, lots of fans too. Kitchen stays colder than the rest of the cabin. Beds and couches were comfy, showers were descent size and nice to use. Wifi worked well. No complaints.

I enjoyed staying at this quaint cabin. There was plenty of room for our group. The bottle of wine and chocolate were a nice touch. We had to make our own beds and one of the double beds had a twin fitted sheet instead of a full.

Perfect for Family Time
This is the second time we have stayed at this cabin. Perfect for family celebrations away from the hustle of life. The deer come through the property twice a day and they love carrots. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. We will definitely return.

Roomy house - great for our family
Overall a great experience! The downstairs bedrooms were nicely located and comfy. The loft was not used by us - too hard to climb up for the kids (one of which sleepwalks) and with the heat wasn’t a good idea… kitchen was nicely laid out and dishes/glasses/refrigerator were clean. The microwave was not clean and the trash can still had someone else’s trash in it. We were not made aware of a planned power outage, which left one of us in the middle of a shower and me still cooking breakfast… a heads up would have been appreciated. The outside space was great in the evenings! We ate our dinners out there comfortably and saw lots of deer!

Affordable stop in Sierra Nevada mountainside
Good check in and directions, no issues getting in. This is a property that draws you outside, it has gorgeous decks and surrounds. The town and the area were the appeal for us. We appreciated the owner offering the choice of paying for cleaning or DYI cleaning (making/stripping beds, vacuuming, mopping, taking out trash). This place is a very affordable solution, so you get your towels from a single basket vs pre-placed in the bathrooms etc. But it has all the amenities like BBQ, TVs, and lots of seating. As others note, the 2nd bathroom is downstairs and accessible by going outside, so we opted to use only the main in-house bathroom and shower. This is a an older cabin and as such some of the doors clash (like bathroom and shower doors) making it a tight fit into the shower. But it all works, and again, has lots of beds and seating areas. So we gave it 3-stars overall. The cleanliness, location, and check-in are all 5-stars. And the value is 5-stars, but the overall when comparing to other properties is 3-stars. We very much enjoyed our stay and appreciated the fast owner replies to all our questions. Thanks!

Lack of communication
The code for the property did not work, when I tried to call I found several different numbers listed, 2 of which did not work. Once I contacted the property owner, he continue to give me a code that was not working. Also he had listed that there were towels to use but it took us about 15 minutes to find them. They were not in the restroom or in the bedrooms they were in a basket that was in a corner that had a blanket on top of it. When you have been hiking all day and its dark you want to easily check-in and shower you do not feel like dealing with all these issues. It was 45 minutes before we got settled because of all the lack of communication.

So sorry to hear this happened Valerie. We will def see if we can do anything better to make it easier to check in for the future. I'm glad you had called me on my cell phone & and we were able to get you into the cabin ASAP after you called us about our electronic door locks. What numbers didn't work? We verified all phone numbers on check in paperwork were functional & forward to cell phones.

This place is amazing !
I am happy I found this rental that fits my budget. The experience was awesome saw some deer's, nice neighborhood , quiet. Upon entering the cabin it immediately felt like home, rooms and beds were good size, living room was spacious also if your into scary movies turn off the lights and enjoy because watching scary movies feels different while in the woods haha. Awesome place though coming back in the future.

Comfortable stay
This house was in a great location. Quick and easy in to town. There were many sleeping options and 4 full couches in the living room! It was cozy and comfortable. Be aware if bringing small kids, there is a ladder to the loft as well as a step down into the back part of the house. The second bathroom is only accessible from outside as well. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this cabin.

Perfect peaceful property
Myself, my husband, and our 3 kids. Had the most perfect get away to this cozy cabin. The smell of the fresh air as you step out of your car make you feel so clear headed. Craig and his wife were very attentive and answered any questions we had. The Cabin was so peaceful and my favorite thing was the just sit on the deck and watch the birds and deer run by while I have my morning coffee. 10/10 we hope to be back!

So much fun and comfortable.
We had such a nice time here. Had everything we needed for family with 5 kids ages 5-18. Wonderful areas to bbq and eat/relax outside. Plenty of room to be together or to find your own spot for solitude. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms were great. Plenty of windows and fans for those hot summer days. Truly was a cozy home away from home for us for 4 days. Short, easy drive to the lake as well as to town for coffee, groceries, mini golf, dinner, etc. I would definitely book again. Perfect weekend getaway!
Craig responded within minutes when we had questions, and he kept us well-informed regarding road closures, rules regarding the lake and other local regulations. The cabin was homey with a lovely wrap-around deck. There was plenty of beds and kitchenware for our party. We had a fabulous time and hope to return soon. 5 stars!

Nice Cabin But Could Be Cleaner
We overall enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It had all the amenities listed and was very cozy. However, I do want to note that it was not as clean as is usually expected by rentals (toys under furniture, sticky table, unclean bathroom). Also, if you are staying in the summer, expect it to be really hot about 4 in the afternoon. It does say that there is no AC which we knew, but I didn’t expect it to be extremely hot in the cabin even with fans on. You also are expected to deep clean before you leave which surprised us since we’ve never had this expectation before in all the places we’ve rented so make sure to plan that into your schedule (it was okay, just caught us off guard). You can have them clean instead if you want, but it costs extra. Overall, it was a great stay and the owner kept in constant contact and was very polite.

As we chatted about most people in the area charge $100 - $200 to clean mandatory when you leave. We make that optional for the budget conscious travelers. You can clean yourself's and we do a final cleanup, sanitation and wash all the bedding and towels.

A must stay!
We were looking for a rental that would fit our 3 kids and my parents for my husband’s birthday weekend. This house fit the bill and then some! The living room is very roomy yet cozy feeling, with 3 sofas and a television equipped with Netflix, Amazon, and other streaming services. The beds are cozy and there are plenty of extra blankets. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, and all basic necessities, and groceries are just a few miles away. If you’re there when the weather is nice, definitely take advantage of the BBQ grill and the awesome deck! There’s plenty of seating outside and if you go out in the late evenings, you might see the deer that come around. Overall, a very nice place to stay and the owner, Craig, is very quick to respond to messages, should you need anything. We look forward to staying here again! Thank you for sharing your cabin with us, Craig!

We Will Be Back!
This property is truly a little gem. It has a very large driveway, could easily fit 5 cars, maybe more. The deck wraps 3/4 around the cabin, and has lots of space for setting up tents if you would need that (we didn’t). We first arrived when it was almost dark, and it was cold outside! We promptly turned the heater on considering we had brought our 5 young kids with us. The cabin got TOASTY WARM very quickly! We were so thankful for that! There is truly so much space too. The living area has 4 full size couches with room to pull up some chairs, yet it still has such a cozy quant feel to it. I cooked all of our meals in the kitchen, except for 1 pizza dinner, and the kitchen had everything I needed. We made popcorn, burned a duraflame log, and watched Netflix at night. Even enjoyed the chocolate left by the hosts for us! There were plenty of extra blankets and pillows around if you forget yours. We didn’t need them, but it’s nice to see they are available just in case. The shower got hot quickly and the water pressure was fantastic! The highlight for our little kids was the large group of deer that passed around the house. We tossed apples off the back patio and watched the deer eat them. How cool is that?! We even met one of the neighbors who was very friendly and kind. Overall, this is a great spot for families and even large groups. We plan to come back again!
