I stayed at this hotel 3 years ago and complained about the same issue with the carpet. In my opinion, if you're going to allow pets, floors should not be carpeted. I have been in other hotels where the floors are tiled and makes cleaning better and odorless. I really like the friendliness, breakfast, clean beds and bathrooms, BUT...

”Do NOT book!!! Horrible hotel!! We checked in and when walked in the room it smelled musty and humid, the carpet by the AC was wet. When I went down to the front desk and told them about it they came up to check it out and what I was told was “the AC has been running a lot because it’s hot in Texas” duh I live in Texas so I know. We tell the guy that we are not talking about how cold it is, the concern was the carpet was wet it smelled humid and musty, traveling with 3 kids, 2 with asthma...

”This was the most terrible thing experience I’ve had. The shelves in the “kitchenette” were falling apart. They gave me an actual storage tote with dishes in it that was only available upon request. The room we were given had roaches and the toilet didn’t flush. When it did, it flooded the restroom. I went to the front for assistance and all they had to offer for my family of four with two young children was separate rooms. After calling 15 other hotels, I had to take their offer. ”The stay wasn’t HORRIBLE but it definitely wasn’t great. When we got to our room there were old clothes from previous guest in the drawers…on top of that we needed clean towels and they had nothing available. The worst part to say though is that there were some very suspicious people walking around and peeping through my truck window-I’m not sure if they were even guests. ”The rooms had several roaches, the pool was only clean once and never covered during my stay and had bugs, cigarette butts, and other paraphernalia around it. It was a hassle to get clean towels and soap. The property itself was rugged and looked worn. The female manager was very rude and short with her explanations. I would never recommend anyone stay there and honestly would like to be partially refunded my money. Just a terrible overall experience”
