”There was a mixup with our reservation. Owner had organized us to stay in his brothers place, which was good. Even though our relocation he took care of us; organized safari with good driver/guide, gave us several lifts to the village center, as well as restaurant recommendations. He also got us comfotable car to get into Unawatuna. ”Quite an excellent resort near the national park. This is probably one on the best choises. Maybe a bit too polite staff as a normal Finnish person feels quite awkward when taken care of too much. ”We had a fantastic stay at Lizard Safari Lodge. The rooms are clean and well kept, with a nice big bed, mosquito net and fan. Our room had a balcony which was great to sit out on in the late afternoon. Dinner was delicious on both nights of our stay (as was breakfast) with a good selection of food and very generous portion sizes! Nandu could not have been kinder, taking us on a tour of the village and to a local swimming spot on the afternoon of our arrival, and providing snacks and ice creams....

”Unfortunately I am not able to review Dil Lanka Safari Resort, because when we arrived, the manager was very surprised to see us and said that he had no booking from us (three people, two rooms). Ultimately it was resolved (with help from our Sri Lankan driver) and we were given our money back (booking was prepaid). The grounds looked nice, so you could take your chances, but make sure you do nót prepay your reservation.”
