”Majatalo on hyvällä paikalla Gallen historiallisella alueella (joka on turistien suosiossa) kahden vanhan rakennuksen yläkerrassa. Tilat eivät luonnollisesti hohtaneet uutuuttaan, mutta niissä oli vanhan ajan idylliä. Huone oli rauhallinen ja sain nukuttua hyvin. Palvelu oli tosi ystävällistä. Lisämaksullinen aamiainen oli hintansa arvoinen.”

”Beautiful old Dutch house, lovely balcony with view of the fort walls and the sea beyond. View west to the setting sun. Swimming spot within three minutes walk. Good fan and AC. Good size room and bathroom. Very nice breakfast at a nearby property. Management and staff very helpful in a pleasant reserved way. Excellent value. Highly recommended.”

”Very nice guest house (b&b) about 25 mins walk or 5 mins by tuk tuk from centre of Galle. The hosts couldn’t be nicer or more helpful and even offered us lifts to town. Sri Lankan or English breakfasts were great. Very clean house with delightful garden in a real Sri Lankan setting. Be aware though, no hot water for showers. Overall terrific value for money.”

”Vi valgte Unawatuna frem for Galle for at komme tættere på stranden. Secret garden ligger i anden række fra stranden med meget nem adgang. Stedet er en fantastisk kombination af en gammel kolonial bygning med omkringliggende have, og moderne srilankansk tilgang til gæster. Vi følte os meget velkomne i et stort hyggeligt værelse med de nødvendige faciliteter. Dejlig morgenmad til fleksible tider.”

”It’s odd that the main concern here is asking travellers to pay for their stay the moment they arrive/walk back in to the property/constantly. Payment on check-put is the norm and it’s strange to continually stay in places like this in Sri Lanka where they’re just obsessed with money. We’re all going to pay you for our stays - that’s normal. Please just let us be here and enjoy and pay on departure - which is standard. ”

”we got the “penthouse” in the villa with views over the beach, however, there were too many flaws to this villa. We had booked two nights and we seriously considered leaving after just one. Up to the top floor we needed to go up a “fire-escape” stairway and we just thought “seriously(?)”. Inside the room we found a good variety of insects and at night we could hear rats running inside the wall or on the roof. We were lucky if we got water out of the shower and especially warm water (super small...

”By far the best place we've stayed in on our trip. Here's why... Really quiet location away from the street noise/pollution. Very helpful, welcoming owners that don't bother you, yet go the extra mile to help (for example when I cut my foot open from too much beach dancing!). The room had all the subtle, useful things we often need as travellers...towels that are absorbent (not tissue paper! :-)), soap, spare loo roll, a knife (I used it to peel an orange), kettle, mosquito net that is...

”The house has a good location, easy to access the beach. The owner is super kind and helpful, we are vegan and asked for a vegan breakfast, they made every day different options and lots of fruits. So well done. The location provides a good view to the sea, and there are a lots of wild animals, also visiting the garden. It's also an experience. Overall its a good place.”
