Cozy Apartment "Ferienwohnung Gschwand" with Mountain View

The charming apartment Ferienwohnung Gschwand is located in Unterammergau, between Allgäu, Chiemgau and Karwendel, and is an ideal starting point for holidays in the beautiful Bavarian Alps. The farmhouse was built in 1836 and has been lovingly and authentically restored by us. The apartments are stylishly furnished (with solid wood furniture and wooden floors), the walls have been rendered with clay. Originally our house accommodated a shoemaker's shop with gas station. Guests staying in this apartment will enjoy a cozy living room with a sofa bed for one person, a well-equipped kitchen with a dishwasher a bedroom, as well as one bathroom equipped with a shower; the apartment can therefore accommodate up to 3 people. The 55 m² apartment features traditional solid wood furniture and hardwood floors throughout. Additional amenities include satellite television and Wi-Fi. You can start the day with coffee on the balcony while you enjoy the wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. The house is quietly located in a residential area, and all hiking trails in the immediate vicinity are easily reached. The train station and a bus stop are about 200m away. A restaurant and café are both just a 5-minute walk away (both less than 300m). Hikers, mountain bikers, and nature-lovers will love how close both Steckenberg Erlebnisberg and Altherrenweg are (both about 5 minutes by car). From the train station you can get to Oberammergau and the famous mountain resort of Garmisch-Partenkirchen. You can swim in the clear blue water of lake Kochelsee after a 35-minute drive (37 km). A 40-minute drive (42 km) away, you can visit the famous Neuschwanstein Castle, which is located next to lake Alpsee, and after a 45-minute drive (33 km) you can get to the Zugspitze cable car. It will take you up to Germany’s highest mountain peak with spectacular views of the surrounding Alps. The nearest skiing areas are within 6-10 minutes by car (3.7-8km).



Parking spaces are located directly at the house and we are a KönigsCard business partner, certified with 3 stars according to DEHOGA. Bed linens and towels are included in the price. Pets and smoking are not allowed.
