The little cute house
The little house is cute and nicely decorated, and we enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning. We were surprised that the Toilet without flashing system, the bedroom was noisy as it is by the street, then the last surprise is that we never saw the Host during our two nights of staying instead of the friendly Dog, Maya.

Overall great experience
Loved the property and gardens! The only downside were the toilet which was confusing and awkward for us and the instructions to watch movies which we weren't able to do. With those improvements would have been awesome.

Cute and Efficient Cottage
The Little Red Cottage is a very cute tiny. It is well-equipped and nicely decorated with bright colors. We were there in the winter so we didn't get to see the trees and flowers in bloom, but the yard was well-cared-for and would certainly be beautiful Spring through Fall. I loved the selection of reading material that was available in the cottage. It was clear that the cottage is a project the hosts are committed to. There were many touches of their love of hospitality throughout the home.

Tiny bright clean house had everything we needed. Bed was very comfortable. Beautiful property and friendly dog. Night-wakers should be aware that the bedroom is upstairs and bathroom downstairs.

Charming Cottage on Vashon
This was such a charming little cottage on Vashon. It has both function and charm. The cottage has everything you might need from a very comfy bed to a coffee and creamer in the fridge. I look forward to staying there again when I need a retreat from the business of life.

Host gave us a ride to the cottage after our Uber reservation cancelled on us. Super clean, and cute little cottage absolutely perfect for couples. Loved every minute of our stay. We will be coming here more often!

Bright and cozy!
Absolutely lovely tiny house! The place is small, but it doesn't feel cramped at all. It's bright and airy with everything I needed. The bed is comfortable, and I loved the window reading nook upstairs. The house is a short drive (<5min) from the town center so restaurants and groceries are close by. I was a little apprehensive about the composting toilet because I'd never used one before, but it's fine and I didn't give it another thought. Maya (the resident pooch) is an absolute gem! I was going through a difficult time when I stayed here and she was the ray of light that I needed. If you see a yellow blur hurtling towards you from the other side of the yard, do not be alarmed. Maya is assertive in her love and you're about to get snuggled. Have a belly rub or two ready to go and you'll get along great.

What a great way to get away!
The tiny home is very well-built and cozy. The property is beautiful, even in the dead of winter and Maya the dog is SUPER FRIENDLY! What a great stay! The cottage is well-thought-out and gives you a nice feel for living like a minimalist for a few days. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Cute backyard house in miniature
This was a cute, clean, and mostly comfortable place to stay for our night on the island. Would definitely recommend for short stays or as just a "home base" for being out and about on adventures most of the time. However, there are a few less-than-desirable features that weren't totally obvious to us from the listing. First, the bathroom has a "composting toilet," which is a bit smelly and complicated to use relative to a standard flushing toilet. Something of which to be aware. Second, everything is in miniature - the shower is tiny, the kitchen stove is tiny, etc. It's all very cute and again perfectly serviceable for short stays, but you might find it lacking if your plan is to have a guest over for a big meal or something. Finally, the cottage is located right in the backyard and eyeline of the hosts, so you're not going to get an optimal sense of privacy. There are curtains and blinds that can be drawn at night, but if your hope was to sit out on the stoop, you'll be standing in their yard (probably in the company of their very sweet yellow lab). Again, not a deal-breaker for us and the kind of trip we were having, but something to keep in mind. All in all, though, again, this is a cozy and well-kept little spot. We enjoyed our one-night stay, but might look for a place with a flushing toilet if we visit the island again for longer.

A great escape!
I had a beautiful getaway at this little cottage! All the shops are closeby. Lots to see, and do, and eat! The space is very well laid out and utilized, everything coordinated for functionality and to please the eye. The bed was super comfy, fireplace inviting, plenty of space upstairs for everything I brought (with room to spare!) - there wasn't anything I needed that wasn't available. The local coffee they provided was wonderful. I enjoyed sipping it while gazing out the huge windows into the pretty yard that's lovingly kept up. The bathroom is tiny so bear that in mind. I was aware of the toilet, but having never actually used one, it was an experience! Not a bad one either, just different. The sweet-as-pie dog, Maya, helped chase my no doggo blues away by sitting at the door for me to come out and say hi. She also went about her day if I was preoccupied. It was a pleasurable solo trip, I felt comfortable and safe - a much needed "me" break. I'd love to return someday!

We had a wonderful stay the The Little Red Cottage. What a beautifully constructed tiny house. We also loved the proximity to town and the dog, Maya, on the property coming to say hello. We will definitely be back!

Lovely setting, well maintained, has everything needed for a short stay. Guests need to be aware the bathroom is compact and has a composting toilet. Not a problem for us just a surprise.

My husband and I were on Vashon for a family gathering and this property was just perfect. Close to town and all activities. The cottage was small but very clean with everything you would need. We enjoyed Maya, the golden retriever that greeted us every morning. I would highly recommend this property on your next stay on Vashon.

Short stay
A very cute tiny home that shows the love and attention given it by the owners. The cottage is right next to a road that gets some traffic so it can be noisy when cars go by during the night, especially if windows are open. My only suggestion is I wish the bed linens and towells had been laundered with scent free soaps and fabric softeners. I'm sensitive to artificial scent and I spent the night pretty stuffed up. A lot of people like it but it doesn’t agree with me. The yard in front of the porch is lush and beautiful.

Small space with everything
The attention to detail in this small cottage is incredible. “Craftsman” approaches the quality here, but can’t describe the refinement or thought that went into it. Everything you need is here including local roasted coffee, comfortable bed, well appointed kitchen, spacious deck, and friendly dog as ambassador. Highly recommend.

This cottage comes with a beautiful garden and a lovely dog, Maya, who is ready to greet you when you are outside. The owners have thought of everything you might need and have custom fitted it into this special small space. Everything is beautifully done. It is very conveniently located, but this means there is a bit of traffic at certain times. It worked perfectly for me. I would come back, for sure.

Well set up compact cabin with a friendly, well behaved canine ambassador outside. Private feel indoors with bright ample serene views of a garden and pond. Tall guests should practice the stairs, and those sensitive to fragrance should communicate that ahead of their stay. The window seat upstairs invites a pause, and in fair weather the expansive patio would offer refreshing seating. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.
