”Best hotel in La Romana! VERY SAFE inside hotel for a solo female traveler. Great owners. Very clean, amazing housekeeper. Brand new tiles in bathroom, beautiful! Well-equipped room with table, luggage rack, phone charger,TV, excellent wifi, ac, hot water. Excellent service! On a main street, ate delicious shrimp at a restaurant next door, small grocery only a few blocks away, accessible by public transit, aka la gua gua”

”The area looked beautiful in photos but it really was not feeling safe. We had an overnight before cruise and mainly just stayed in the room. The beach was lovely but we didn’t feel comfortable eating anywhere near this small hotel no elevator so be prepared to carry your luggage up stairs to higher floors. No where close to get a coffee in the morning.”

”Playa Catalina Hotel really surprised me in the best way. It gives you that Punta Cana vibe but in a more local, peaceful area. The beach is just a 5‑minute walk, and having a pool available 24/7 was perfect. The rooms look like little villas — super cute and cozy. What made the stay unforgettable was the staff. ”I am extremely satisfied with my stay at El Navegante Hotel in Bayahibe! Check in process was easy. 24 hours before my expected arrival I sent the host a message through the expedia app and she responded with my room number and lock code to enter the room. I found the code lock to be extremely handy so I didn't have to worry about losing a key or key card while at the beach. This property is an apartment style building right in the neighborhood.
