Hand-crafted cabin with sod roof and terrace

Built in 2019, this hand-log cabin sits at an elevation of 785 meters above sea level, featuring a thatched roof and large windows that let in plenty of light. The wood-burning stove is centrally located and heats the entire space, visible from the living room, kitchen, and loft. The 130-square-meter deck surrounds the cabin on all sides and is at the same level as the living room floor.



The cabin features an open floor plan where the living room, kitchen, and loft flow naturally into one another. The interior is characterized by exposed pine timber, which gives the space character and atmosphere. The wood-burning stove serves as a natural gathering spot when you return from hikes in the mountains.



You’ll be staying at the end of a dead-end road in a small cabin community, surrounded by open nature and unobstructed views. The terrace serves as an extension of the living room, with three exit doors that create a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors. Here, you can enjoy the sun all day long.



Grouse, squirrels, hares, moose, and deer roam the area year-round. In summer and fall, you’ll find cloudberries, blueberries, raspberries, and lingonberries within walking distance. Raudsinutan (1,067 m above sea level) is a day’s hike away, and Nutheim Guesthouse—with its café, art gallery, and garden—is worth a visit. You can fish for trout in part of the large Breivatn lake without a fishing license, while the other great fishing lakes in the area require a fishing license.
