Positives- excellent location on the boardwalk, oceanfront, at 39th St, the beginning (or end) of the boardwalk.
The trolley stops right outside of the hotel as well, and was only $4.50 to ride all day. Also, staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service (except for the bar.)
The hotel was very clean. There are a few pools and a poolside bar that are nice.
I liked the hotel room. It was a large suite with 2 queen beds in one room, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Both rooms were separated by the bathroom, which provided privacy for everyone.
At the bar, there was music and fun games hosted by staff.
Negatives- My first morning there, I ate at the hotel restaurant, The Square Whale. After finishing my breakfast, I returned to my hotel room where I threw up all of the food. I was sick for the rest of the day. I went to management, but they told me that because I was alone, there was nothing they could do. They only gave me 50% off of a meal that made me sick all day. Additionally, bar service was extremely slow. At first, my friend and I waited 15 minutes for drinks. We were even ignored by the bartender at one point.
The hotel elevators are an issue. They are both very hot, smelly, and slow. The doors also close too fast and you will either miss the elevator or have the doors slam on you.
The balcony door is too hard to open and close.
Staff werenot knowledgeable about the trolleys when I asked.
We enjoyed the Hilton @ 31St better.
