Penthouse #1602 is a fully-furnished and finely-decorated 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom unit with breathtaking views (1 twin size bunk bed/2 Queens/2Kings). The penthouse has a beautifully updated kitchen with granite counters and stainless steel appliances, gas fireplace, and a balcony. We provide 1 towel/guest, and there is an in-suite washer/dryer. The expansive living room has multiple TV's, high-speed internet access, and a pool table for everyone to enjoy. This special resort rental accommodates a group of 8 maximum. No pets are allowed.

Check-In is after 4:00 p.m.
Check-Out is by 10:00 a.m.

Thought it would be a great time but started bad when we arrived

unit is it misrepresented the video is NOT the unit that is being rented Photos are modifiedkitchen table glass teeters the table is not flat at all. But to the owner it is 'not a safety concern We had a couple of pinched fingers broken vase which cut someone in the first hour Luckly no one put anything heavy on each end at the same time because I am sure the glass would have broken it had been empty a we were assured it would be clean and bug free not the case dirty and found bugs,. The bedrooms were not horrible but still not the cleanest and to top it off there was nothing to sweep up with, no forms of cleaning supplies anywhere not even a broom really?2 AC units and 1 portable in 1 bedroom none really worked so we turned all 3 units on and contacted owner and went to dinner 2 hours later the front AC was reading 74 from 76 The rear 78 portable unit was doing OK owner has stopped answering The next day we went to the building maintenance people AC and it started working better by Monday night fixed fans. the view from bedrooms/game & deck, hotel is what you see. what they show is definitely helped out by photoshop. the owner just doesn’t seem to carebuilding mgmt did a lot to help without them it would be a short trip and I would be having a completely different ending Owner does not care and is not interested in making it right when you are spending this type of money you kind of expect these to be working and not dangerous. So much more to say and show

Not bad!

Positives: I was worried about the cleanliness and bugs based on previous reviews, but the apartment was very clean and no issues with bugs! Beds were very comfy! We loved the pool table! Apartment was huge with tons of space. Negatives: The place is complicated to get into. You have to have the key fob from the apartment to get in and out of the building at certain hours. You can only use one specific elevator to get to the penthouse. If the other elevator that is part of that set of elevators comes down and opens, the one with the penthouse access won’t open so you have to step into the other elevator, hit a random floor to make it go up, step back out, and then the other elevator with the penthouse access will come down. You have to put in a passcode every time to go up the elevator. My biggest complaint is that in the big master bedroom that has access to the roof patio, there was no curtain/blind to cover the door that goes out to the patio. At night time people from other buildings could literally see right into the bedroom through a huge sliding glass door. A bedroom deserves privacy and why someone would think it’s okay to not have a curtain or blind for a large bedroom door/window for privacy is strange to me. We took a comforter from another bed hung it and used it to cover the door & window. Get a curtain or blinds for that door and I’d consider coming back to stay again.

Great location near the beach, issues with missing details and elevator problems

The good - great location just 2 blocks from the beach, near tons of restaurants/bars/coffee shops, excellent view, and extremely spacious penthouse.The not so good - we had issues with the elevator our entire stay - this is a penthouse location and only one of the elevators can get you to the penthouse floor. For most of our stay, we couldn't get up to our floor without taking another flight of stairs, so if you or someone in your party have mobility issues, take caution before booking. The property was also lacking some of the amenities you expect to find in a VRBO rental, especially one at this price point. For example, there was no microwave in the kitchen, none of the showers had liner curtains, and some of the bathrooms had an odd number/mix of towels (2 bathmats and not enough regular towels).Overall - we had a good stay but not an outstanding one, which is disappointing considering how much potential a place like this has.

The penthouse pictures are just like the place. I thought this was going to be a stress free vacation because it was a penthouse. 1. We arrived earlier than the supposed 4 pm check in- so we were given parking passes and we used the outdoor pool which was nice. Furniture in need of repair. Got a call saying room wouldn’t be ready until 4:45 pm. I was informed that check in is anytime after 4 pm. Not 4 pm exactly. 2. When we did get to room cleaning staff were Just leaving. Seemed really friendly. However, the place really wasn’t that clean. Floors had a gritted film to it, fans had black dirt/ mold around all fan blades and the major problem was the toilet to be used for 5 people was broken. It rocked and unusable. Flange was broken and floor was crumbling underneath it. Quickly let them know and didn’t hear until Sunday that maintenance doesn’t work on weekends. To make a long story short. Didn’t have use of this bathroom toilet until after 7 pm on Wednesday. The problem is the other 2 toilets are actually inside the bedrooms. 3. Everything that other comments below say are true- cockroaches, lack of towels- no washcloths, we did end up getting more plates etc. had to ask for 4 days before we got a broom. No soap, no trash bags etc. Listed microwave but was informed we do have a toaster oven. Definitely not the same. 4. Lights/ fans were a definite problem. Turning on around 2 am every night I would say more but ……… It was conveniently located to beach, boardwalk etc.

Surprises at mayflower

We stayed 6 days. Found about a dozen roaches over the stay. Told mayflower mgr that we did not want immediate spraying due to children. More communication would help. Most of the building is long term residents so they know some things. To get to the penthouse you need to push the down button. Easy enough if you know. Parking pass is in the room. We were towed in the 20 minutes that we went for the passes. We were advised that there was aggressive towing. Identifying our lack of parking pass getting the tow truck, hooking up the car and hauling out in 20 minutes is impressive. That level of enforcement would seem to require planning. No one told us where to dispose of garbage. We only had 4 bath towels. Mayflower mgr said need to work thru vrbo. Contacted vrbo and got more towels. To access room requires a code to get into building with another code to take the elevator to the penthouse. We had to search for the right elevator to go to the penthouse.

Not worth the cost

Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the property. For example, floors were very dirty, saw roaches behind the fridge (only got back there because the water line was not connected to make ice). Property manager did come right away to mop and spray for bugs. Continued to see bugs during the week. Kitchen doesn't have a microwave like listed, only a toaster oven. I would have expected to have the following items provided but we had to buy hand soap for all bathrooms & kitchen, paper towels and garbage bags. The A/C in the back bedrooms was a problem and overhead lights in 2 of the bedrooms would just come on during the night randomly. One final note, the building had constant smell of pot in the elevator and hallways. I requested a partial refund due to all the issues and got no response from the property manager/owner. I hope they get some things fixed. We did like the layout of the penthouse and the beds/pillows were very comfortable.

Terrible place to stay

This place is NOT as advertised. If I could give it 0 stars, I would. When we arrived, it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. There were disgusting smells coming from the one of the bathrooms, no air flow at all in one of the master bedrooms, broken drawers, non-working lights, poor internet (which we had to figure out the code to), no microwave, dirty floors that left your feet black after walking in there for 5 minutes, and the list goes on. Also, upon arrival--4 towels total, 1 pillow per bedroom, and for a place advertised for 11, we only had a set of 4 dishes. The Mayflower management company that runs the building did nothing to fix anything in the unit nor did they care about all of the issues that were wrong. We had to keep going to the office to demand some cleaning & ended up cleaning it ourselves. The amount of money that was spent for this makes me sick for what were given and had to deal with. I am now dealing with trying to get our cleaning fee back & something refunded for our grievances. Do NOT stay here.

Not worth the price to stay

Overall the location was great and the space was was great but that was about it . Paying what we paid we expected to go have a nice Clean place . Not only was it not clean, but there was what appeared to be poop marks on some of the sheets. Dog fur on sheets and on end tables and the floors were so dirty that when you took your Shoes off the bottom of your feet got black. There were also roaches everywhere. We were told there would be towels for everyone, and they only provided us with five towels in total, even though there were eight of us. we open the cabinet and the door fell off, and the air conditioner did not work in the main suite. We were told they would fix it multiple times, but in the end nothing ever got fixed. The blinds going to the outside in the main Suite half of them were missing so people could see inside of the room at all times The dresser drawers didn’t shut all the way, and the closets were broken and some of the bedrooms as well so you had to keep them open at all times. We also had 3 groups of people and they only gave us 3 fobs to get up to the floor buy only one set of keys to get in were given . So it was a lot of making sure someone who had the keys was there to let the others in which was very inconvenient. They also gave us a wifi password which did not work. The manager was very nice but unfortunately due to everything and things NOT getting fixed it was not a pleasant stay.

Mayflower Penthouse

Great location! One block off the beach with ocean views from almost every window--and there are a lot of windows providing great natural light during the day and views of city lights at night. Easy walk to restaurants, arts district, grocery store. The space is terrific for a large group. Two spacious seating areas provide separate areas for kids and adults. Amenities were sparse; so prepare for a trip to the store for essentials. Office management was courteous but inconsistent, at best, in responsiveness.
