The Shiplap Cottage is newly renovated and close to all the attractions!

Its beautiful shiplap walls and Spanish wood ceilings alone make it a must stay! Inside you'll find comfy beds, a stocked kitchen, and an open living room to watch all your favorite Netflix/Sling shows. Enjoy a perfect day in the fenced in backyard equipped with cornhole, a fire pit, & a charcoal grill. Down the street from Heritage Park.

  • The Cameron Park Zoo in Waco, Texas is a terrific zoo! The zoo has a great range of animals and exhibits and the grounds are well kept and spacious. There's lots of shade to keep you somewhat cool during those hot Texan summer months if you visit during that time frame. The animal enclosures are nice, and can really give you great views of the animals themselves if you are a bit patient. This also makes for great photo views, as shown here with this photo of an approaching jaguar. Food and snack prices are also very reasonable, as are prices for souvenirs. This zoo makes for a great day out for the family.

Upon arrival the house was very cold, it was 53 degrees. Took over an hour to get the house comfortable. The dryer was not working, lastly no trash bags were left, so we only had 1 trash bag for the 2 nights paid for. It was a disappointing stay. We stay in Vrbo rentals frequently and have never had issues like this. Seems like the house isn’t well cared for.

Our family truly enjoyed our time at the Shiplap Cottage. The house was the perfect size for our family of 5! We found everything as described and felt very comfortable. The neighborhood was safe and quiet, and we were within a short drive of all the places we needed to visit.The host had excellent communication and was very prompt and polite in attending to our needs and questions.

Cozy, Quiet, Conveniently Located, & Pet Friendly

This was the perfect place for a family of 6! My family traveled here for a short pass prior to deployment. The home was clean and offered the perfect amount of space inside and out. Everything available was operable. The fenced in back yard with the grill and picnic table was perfect for a steak dinner and burgers, and an area to congregate with our big puppy. The location was the best! Everything we needed was within 15 minutes (groceries, shopping, park, activities for kids, etc). During our stay we visited the Mammoth Museum and Hawaiian Falls. We were so close to EVERYTHING though just not enough time to experience it all. It was not necessary for us to contact the host during our stay.

Sweet house with plenty of room for us and our kids. Neighborhood feels a little “sketchy” but honestly was fine, pretty quiet for the most part and we stayed there for 4 nights and felt safe. Did not like the dog hair and smell all over the carpet and pretty strong smell in the front bedroom (where I assume most people keep their dogs) . The only communication problem I didn’t appreciate was I tried to shorten my trip (before the deadline for change) and I never got a response. They just charged me for the full trip and kept the dates the same even though I was within the time frame of being allowed (as stated in the contract) to change it. So I was a little frustrated with that, but we just ended up coming the full time because I paid for it.

We wanted to share with you some items to help you to improve on others stay. Master bathroom tub does not drain. Master bedroom mattress needs to be rotated. Shades do not cover the whole windows which made us feel uneased, people could see in. They are very hard too adjust. The front door would not lock after several attempts which made us late. The backyard was not set up for guests, no fire pit no cornhole these were two things showed in the listing. The shed in back is rusted, items were in there, but we did not feel comfortable with pulling them out. Only two spoons, at one point two of us ate ice cream with a spoon and the other with a fork. The house doesn't seem that it has been maintained since the flooring is separating, carpets need to be cleaned. The paint is chipping off on exterior. The lamp in twin bedroom is broken. Bedrooms need minors and table/dressers to put items on instead of items going on the floor. Add something to the walls, to make it more cozy. Conveniently located to all of the places we wanted to visit. Most beds were comfortable. Good size space for us to have our own privacy. Overall a nice place and we had a great time in Waco! Cute spot near the Silos

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was very clean and the towels were extra soft and fluffy. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was nice. It’s an older house but you can tell they took great care in refinishing everything. We would stay here again.
