”The home has a very open layout and was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The property is amazingly beautiful with a lovely garden. At night the frogs come out and sing their songs. The stream and waterfall on the property is amazing. So serene and full of natural beauty. Do wear your mosquito repellent as they are in numbers in this area. Wish we had booked for a few more days as it was so nice. Highly recommend!”

”Host was welcoming and had good communication. The house is worn and shows the lived in love. Home can be great with upgrades. Windows have screens but no lockable windows. Bathroom is beautiful. Driveway is very steep, small, with potholes. Backyard is overgrown and has garbage bags piled up. Front as well. Turn into Iwalani Drive hard to find and narrow, be careful.”

”Kohala Lodge is not just a place to stay, it is a destination. If you visit the Big Island, it is one of the bucket-list experiences you must have. Scenic, tranquil, magical all come to mind. Sit on the expansive front porch and contemplate that you are on an island in the Pacific with a view of Maui in the distance. Feed the animals with pellets provided by the owner. When the breeze gets quite cool, you can build a fire in the stone fireplace with wood provided by the owner. I did not cook, so...
