SHINGOBEE RETREAT

Come enjoy this newly remodeled 3 bedroom 3 bath home located on Shingobee Island! Walk just down the road to the Shingobee Bar and Grill for some great food and/or a little slot machine action. This fully furnished home is located right next to the paved bike/walking path, snowmobile trail and ice road access. Right across the street is the boat landing.

Sorry, no pets allowed as owner is allergic to dog and cat hair.

This was my first experience booking a VRBO. The home and property were even better than the pictures! Our cousins from Texas were also impressed with the home. We hosted family dinner each night in a spacious kitchen and dining area with extra seating on the shaded deck. We docked our boat and took nightly boat rides with the family. The home was very clean and comfortable!

Leech Lake Family Vaca

The house is really nice and roomy and It’s very up to date. The basement gets a little warm in hot days but the nights cool off nice. It’s within a block of a marina and restaurant and it’s like 5 minutes from Walker. It’s close to the highway so there’s some road noise. The house sits right on the shore line so there’s not a ton of yard but enough for bean bags or a small tent. The owner is close and very helpful. We popped an electric breaker and she was there within minutes to reset it. There’s a long dock and you can park a boat. Overall, we had a great time and are happy :)

Great trip on Leech Lake

We had an amazing trip to the Shingobee retreat lake property. The property was spotless, host/hostess were amazing to work with and very quick to respond. Dock on the lake was easy to tie our boat to with very little wind on this side of the lake plus the boat launch is across the street from the property. Convenient store within walking distance and the kayaks were a perfect addition to. Perfect trip.

Friends Weekend

We had a great stay on the lake. The home was clean and stocked with what we needed for preparing meals. Communication with our host was wonderful, we had all our questions answered promptly. The fishing was fantastic right in the bay.

Very Nice & Clean Winter Escape

We (6 adults) came to the area for a pool tournament at No Lights Casino. When we walked in we were impressed by the cleanliness and tasteful furnishings of the house. It was the perfect location, layout and aesthetic for our diverse group. Host is very communicative and has made the place a welcoming and comfortable. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Close to everything

We spend a few days fishing every fall and the Shingobee Retreat was the perfect spot. Boat launch across the highway, 5 minutes from downtown, and a great location on the lake. Super clean and organized. Seamless check-in/out, welcoming hosts. Will stay again.

Excellent for fishing vacation!

This house was perfect for our annual family fishing trip. Easy access to Leech Lake and dock is protected when the winds are strong. We easily got two 19 foot boats along the dock. Wonderful, responsive, and friendly property owners. House was extremely clean and we will certainly book again in the future.

Walkers Hidden Gem

My wife and I have been hosting our kids their spouses and grandchildren for an "up north" cabin vacation for the past dozen or so years at a small family run resort. We were a little nervous going the Vrbo route but the Shingobee Retreat couldn't have been a more perfect place for us. Some highlights: - Location: Perfect location just minutes to Walker by car or boat. Minutes from the golf course, walking distance to the marina/resturant, in a calm bay and great access to all the Leech Lake water -Shingobee Retreat: The house is gorgeous inside. Big comfy sitting area by the bay window became our cuddle spot with the grandkids. The bedrooms were very spacious with very comfortable beds. Having a main living space with the downstairs area gave us not only practical space but some downtime private space for folks as well. We learned that 9 or 10 of us in one level 3 bedroom cabin can lead to a few frayed nerves at times. Shingobee really did provide us with a "retreat". The deck has a spectacular lake view and the ground floor patio has a very cool vibe sitting so close to the lake and reeds-perfect fire pit location. Oh...and let's not forget about the private dock! Frankly...these guys thought of everything. Host: Kelli is really on top of things. Great response fantastic information in the booklet..kudos! She and her husband are really nice people. Almost like talking to the next door neighbors. The whole crew can't wait to re-book for next year!

Grammy Vacation

This house was everything we needed. Beautiful, Spacious rooms. Water front property with a boat dock. 2 kayaks and a paddle boat. Short drive to Walker stores and shopping. The only thing besides food and drinks we needed to bring were our beach towels.

Annual Fishing Trip

Great Stay

The property was in a great location between one end of town to the other. Plenty of room for both families to have our separate spaces and the house was gorgeous inside. It was a great view of the lake with a hot cup of coffee in the morning. Overall a great experience.

Great location!

Great little place close to Walker. Only suggestion would be the main floor living room couch could use replacing. It is small and uncomfortable for more than a 2-3 people max and the only "comfort" seating on the main floor. Other than that, it was wonderful!
