We enjoyed our stay. The location is incredible. There are several good restaurants within walking distance. We loved Mezeh. To get around, we used the property bicycles (free and first come first served) to get to the museums and monuments. The rooms are spacious and clean. We had a room with a kitchenette and dining room. The beds are clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good enough to get us through the afternoon. I appreciated the fried eggs as opposed to hotel scrambled eggs. There was always coffee and tea available. Staff was friendly.
2 issues: The property is actually 2 buildings, and our room was in the second bldg (which was okay bc breakfast was in our bldg). The washer and dryer was coins only and the front desk could not give me change. So I had to do laundry at 11pm in the main bldg because those machines accepted credit card. That was inconvenient to haul the laundry to and from the other bldg outside late at night. Also, The tub in our room was painted to cover rusty spots. As we showered, the paint was falling off. The toilet seemed to lack flushing power. Each time the toilet was used I was afraid it would overflow. For these reasons, I took 1 star off.
Overall, splendid stay at the Capitol Hill Hotel. I would definitely stay here again with my family.
