We enjoyed our stay at this property overall, and would stay again. There are positives and negatives.
Positives:
Staff is friendly and happy to help.
Our room was very clean.
The property is beautiful and has fascinating history. The old world style is amazing. We loved the little cafe, the coffee was great! We would have gone there in the evenings for little snacks and ice cream if it didn’t close as early.
It was our anniversary, and they had a special sweet treat along with iced prosecco waiting for us, which was fabulous!
The pool and hot tub are very nice, clean, and well maintained. The grounds are beautiful and welcoming.
Negatives:
The hotel is an older one, and can use some renovation.
The lounging furniture within the common spaces of the hotel all needs cleaned. Almost every spot I looked to sit were dirty spots and/or stains.
We were on the 8th floor, and the ice maker was broken, the hallways there are hot and stuffy without air conditioning, the smell was musty, I’m guessing in part due to no airflow.
Our room smelled BAD, almost like cat urine and burnt bacon upon first entering. We sprayed perfume and downy wrinkle release, and got used to it after being in there for a while. If we hadn’t minded packing up again we would have requested a better room. We didn’t have the energy, so we dealt with it.
The restaurant within the hotel had a very limited menu, as such we didn’t eat there once.
