”Felt like the staff isn't working, they are just chilling in there? Good luck if your room is on top of the restaurant, the bass from speakers will shake your bed. Also the pods were so hot that couldn't sleep. They have little fans, but it didn't work. All the kitchen equipments are either broken or in really bad condition. ”

”I stayed in a shared room with 20 beds but only like 5 other people actually there. It was pretty chill, great location and access to lots of restaurants and downtown Auckland right there. Lots of lockers including under my bottom bunk, just used my own lock and had no issues with it. Showers nice and hot, very clean space overall. Great big kitchen and the staff was awesome. Would stay here or another haka lodge again for sure!”

”Hobson lodge is a nice hostel. The kitchen is big so you always have space for cooking, also rooms and toilets are always clean. A friendly environment with people from all around the world.”

”Lovely and helpful staff, comfortable beds. Felt surprisingly private. The shared spaces were spacious, comfortable and lovely. They have a “quiet” room which was highly appreciated. It felt new, fresh and cozy. The kitchen could get pretty messy but the staff tried their best to keep it clean. I felt like I got a lot of value for the money.”

”No window in the room and smell from sewers”

”Olin odottanut hieman hienompaa hotellia. Isoin pettymys kuitenkin se että olin varannut hiljaisen huoneen, joka sitten hotellin mukaan oli huone moottorintien vieressä. En nukkunut hyvin kun oli liikennettä koko yön läpi..”

”+location is the best thing in this hotel, close to everything (and little tip: there's city library right next to this, and there's free unlimited wifi, the hotel's own is very expensive), also the view from a room (in 7th floor) was amazing. -terrible smell of mold in the room, and there was major water damage is the ceiling. Didn't feel very safe to sleep there considering my health. Luckily it seemed they were about to renovate the rooms a bit, I really wish they do it properly, cause...

”The most disappointing thing about this place was the bathroom facilities. There was mould everywhere in the shower - up the walls, on the ceiling. The shower curtain looked liked it hadn't been changed in decades...it was scary to touch. The place also smelled of cigarettes....not very pleasant. While it is a hostel, I have certainly stayed in better hostels both in Auckland and major cities around the world. By far the worst hostel I have stayed in.”

”Awful. No bath mat, soap, bin, glass/cup. Filthy lockers, poop in toilet. Holes in walls, filthy walls. Tv ripped off wall. One neighbour making disgusting noises, clearly very ill. Another screaming super offensive abuse. Nearly called police. Extremely upset. Felt very unsafe.”

”We booked this property because it was a handy location, unfortunately we had also booked it because it said we could have 3 separate beds and because I was booking it for 3 students that didn't really know each other it was appropriate they have their own beds. I have just been told they were only provided with a double and single bed. This has put me in a rather awkward position. They were not confident to ask for this to be changed.”

”False advertising. Rude staff. Beds with one small blanket in winter. Old building and freezing cold-no insulation. Bathroom tap didn't turn on. Booked for 3 nights, thinking it had a private bathroom as advertised. Upon check in found out no room had private bathroom. All shared. Refused to refund me any money. Even after showing them the advertisement online. Didn't stay and booked elsewhere. Only parking available is pay and display down the road that is more expensive than the room itself. ”

”Backpackers small building was crowded (taken over) by a bunch of thugs, having meetings inside. ”

”Property is what we needed during our 2 night stay in Auckland, it was tidy and clean. The pictures made it look like it was its own house, but it is situated on the bottom floor of the main house towards the back. Good communication with the property manager. Would recommend”

”Mukava huoneistohotelli sopivalla sijainnilla. Aucklandin keskusta kävelyetäisyydellä, jos ei ylämäki haittaa tahtia. Samoin lentokenttäbussilla pääsee lähes hotellin viereen. Wifi ei maailman paras eikä rajaton muuta kuin lisämaksusta, se hieman harmitti.”
