Viehättävä punainen mökki kivitakalla, joka sijaitsee yksityisellä 40 hehtaarin kiinteistöllä, 600 metrin päässä Erie-järven ranta-alueella, pieni venelasku, härkä sammakko lampi, houkutteleva virta, hedelmäpuita, mustikoita, kävelykokeet puolen mailin metsäisen ajotieltä. Täydellinen perhejuhlia tai lomaretriittiä varten, joka sijaitsee 22 mailia länteen Eriestä, PA ja 8 mailia itään Conneautista, OH.

Tämä 4 makuuhuoneen koti on saatavana ympäri vuoden, mutta maastohiihtoa tarvitaan ehkä talvella. Kiinteistö rajautuu Erie-järven pohjoispuolella, Camp Lambec lännessä ja etelässä ja idässä ovat yksityisiä kehittämättömiä maita. Lähellä, suurin kehittymätön maa-alue Erie-järven etelärannalla, Pennsylvanian osavaltion riista-alueet / David M Roderickin luonnonsuojelualue; ja uusi Erie Bluff -järven puisto on myös lähellä.

Historiallinen kiinteistö, joka sijaitsee sen vuoksi, että viimeinen 259. virstanpylväs oli vallankumousta edeltävää sotaa Pennsylvanian pohjoisrajalla. Historiaa harrastaville graniittimonumentti lähellä korkeinta bluffia, joka oli sijoitettu vuonna 1910, merkitsee vanhaa osavaltion linjaa ja kertoo asiakirjan vuodelta intialaisten ja George Washingtonin kanssa allekirjoitetun tutkielman. 1940-luvulla rakennettua mökkiä laajennettiin ja kunnostettiin vuonna 2000 siten, että siihen sisältyy ensimmäisen kerroksen makuuhuone ja oma kylpyhuone, tilava vaahterakaapin keittiö, aamiainenurkkaus, joka oli varustettu kaikilla varusteilla minkä tahansa aterian valmistamiseksi. Olohuoneessa on kivi, puulämmitteinen takka, jotta joka yö tuntuu viihtyisältä. Järven rannalla sijaitseva ruokasali ja sohva, etu- ja takakannet ovat molemmat täydelliset rentoutumispaikat, kuunnella aaltoja, nähdä veneet kulkevan ja katsella, miten kolibrit tikkaavat syöttölaitteen ympärillä. Jos sää muuttuu, suljetut etu- ja takaosan solarium-sohvat antavat sinun nauttia kauneudesta.
Toisessa kerroksessa on 2 makuuhuonetta. Molemmissa 2 erillistä vuodetta ja jaettu kylpyamme.

Veneily: Mökillä on runsaasti tilaa veneesi pysäköintiin. Pienemmät veneet voidaan purkaa kiinteistöllä ja Raccoon Creek Park -puistossa. Suurempien veneiden on mentävä Conneautiin, Elk Creekiin tai muihin lähellä oleviin ramppeihin.

Uinti: omalla yksityisellä rannalla. Rakenna tulipalo rannalla ja keitä hot dog tai paista marshmallow. Tulipalon pitämiseksi on melkein aina ajelevaa puuta.

Metsästys: Hirvet, kalkkuna, kyyhky ja paljon muuta tuovat metsästäjät ympäri maailmaa läheisille osavaltioille - mutta eivät ole sallittuja mökkiomaisuuteen.

Lintujen linjaus: Ainakin 50 lintulajia pesii täällä. Kalju kotkat, Mississippi-leijat, sukukukot ovat kaikki havaittu muuton aikana. Elokuun lopulla ja syyskuun alussa tuodaan Monarch-perhosia matkalle Meksikoon. Kuningaskärry, musta tiira, vähiten katkera, loistava jalohaikara, keltainen kruunattu haikari ja tavallinen tiira ovat muut, joita innokkaalla birderilla on mahdollisuus nähdä. Äskettäin huomannut Scarlet Tanager ja Rose Breasted Grosbeak.

We had a wonderful time. The house has tons of character and is secluded in the woods with direct private beach access. So close to fishing for the guys and not far from our favorite wineries up in North East about 45 min north. We didnt even go to other beaches since the beach was private and nice at the house. All the beds were comfortable and the kitchen had tons of stuff to use. The only downside was lack of a 'gathering' couch so we found it difficult and uncomfortable to congregate in the evenings to watch movies or chat the night away. If there was a larger sofa in the back sun room to watch the lake in the evenings or during a rainy day that would've been awesome. Also the outside chairs on the back porch were all broken. Thankfully they had some lawn chairs in the garage and we used the furniture down by the firepit instead. The only real issue was the AC. We werent permitted to go below 74 which meant the upstairs bedroom with the loft that the kids were in was about 80 which is so hot and stuffy. A ceiling fan would go a long way up there for these hot summer days and nights with no breeze coming thru the windows. There was a box fan but since it had to sit on the floor it didnt really help that much. And lastly, CURTAINS PLEASE! At least in the bedrooms. Everyone in the back Lakeroom and anyone outside could see me getting dressed. Curtains in the master bed and bath and loft bedroom would be great! Otherwise we cant wait to book it again!

Peaceful and private setting. Like a nature retreat really. Enjoyed walking on the beach searching for pottery and sea glass. The beach is always evolving and the lake room was an awesome place to watch the weather roll in. Home is well stocked and a clean & comfortable family place. Hope to return again someday!

We were looking for a quiet getaway, and 22 Chains certainly delivered. We wandered the property, enjoyed the beach, did some sightseeing, and fell asleep to the sound of the waves every night. The house is beautifully furnished, with a large, well-equipped kitchen, a fantastic great room overlooking the lake, and multiple outside sitting areas. There are two steep staircases down to the lake, and additional stairs to get off the retaining wall, which could be challenging for some. While not a typical sandy beach, there's room to sit and relax; it's also great for collecting rocks and driftwood. Conneaut, OH is only a few minutes west, and Erie is only a few minutes east, so parks, restaurants, wineries, antique shops, lighthouses, and covered bridges are easily accessible. And don't forget Peggy Gray's Candies just down the street! David, the owner, was quick to reply to communications through the VRBO app, and accessible if needed during our stay. If you're looking for a place that's both quiet and convenient, 22 Chains is a great option!

My friends and I had a wonderful stay at 22 Chains. The house was very spacious with many options to hang out. The beds were very comfortable and the sounds of the lake very soothing. Also, the knives were sharp! A rarity in rental properties.

In a word this cottage is “wonderful!” The location is serene with the natural woodlands that surrounds the property. The views of the lake are stunning. Still a bit chilly to truly take advantage of the water but the youngsters of our group had a great time. What can be said about the cottage…..it was way beyond our expectations. So comfortable, cozy and felt like you were staying at a family home. Plenty of room to spend time as a family and also to find space for quiet alone time. Wow-we all left with the same opinion- best family vacation ever! Really would like to return in the future.

This house was the perfect location for my family to get away for a few nights. The house was lovely and just fit all 8 of us. It is certainly an older house with its quirks but nothing that impacted our stay in anyway. The green space was great for running around or sitting in the sun. The beach was quite small and the waves were rolling during our stay so we didn't spend much time down there. Having the view of the water was enough for us, especially at sunset. We cooked all of our meals at the house which worked out well. We stocked up on groceries the day we got there and really didn't have to leave the property after that. Would definitely recommend a stay at this house!

This was our second stay at 22 Chains. What a beautiful property! The house overlooks Lake Erie and gives you the opportunity to listen to the waves and enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. Our family really loves the layout and comfort of the Lund's house - lots of little spaces to have conversations, read books or just watch Lake Erie. The house is well appointed for what we needed during our vacation. I would definitely recommend this home for a vacation to NW PA!

It was such a peaceful place to stay. The owner was very responsive to questions. The home had plenty of space for our family of 6 to gather together as well as to have some space to sit quietly by yourself if needed. The private beach was nice for family time. The location is great for day trips. We went to Niagara one day and the Allegheny National Forest one day. It was a wonderful vacation!

22 Chains Cottage is very cozy, yet enough room for everyone to have their own space. The upstairs was hard to cool off, but the downstairs was quite comfortable. The kitchen had ample space for several people to cook or chat. The house was cleaned, but could use a deep cleaning. The yard was kept up well. One day a guy came to weed wack at 8:30 AM close to the back bedroom while we were still in bed. Any issues were reported to the owner and he responded quickly. The view of Lake Erie was phenomenal. I was able to see the sunrise and sunset every day. It was fun looking for beach glass. I would recommend this place for making great memories and a stress free relaxing stay.

This spacious property, half a mile off the road and with a stunning view over Lake Erie, is a relaxing, absorbing-away. The house/cottage has a "home" feel to it as it contains the art and belongings of several generations. Take time to relax here, take the steps to the pebble beach and then step into the lake along its secluded, long frontage. Visit the many parks in easy reach. This is a gem.

Twenty-two Chains is truly a gem! This property is directly on the lake and sits back a very long lane, giving guests a lot of privacy and seclusion. There are trails to walk on, Canada geese on the pond, flowers everywhere, a clean beach area, beautiful sunsets, and the constant sound of the waves from Lake Erie. Our group had plenty of room for everyone, the house is designed with great common areas, a welcoming sun room, decks on the front and back, as well as privacy and plenty of beds and bathrooms for a larger group. The house itself is quaint and classically charming and the kitchen has everything you would need to cook, as well as 2 grills in the basement. The teens we brought with us absolutely loved this place! It was our second stay and we definitely will be back!
