1. Charming basement retreat awaits you!

Markham

Phoned several times but no answer. I knew they had children so was reluctant to ring the doorbell to the main house but finally did, twice. No answer. Ended up having to find a hotel room kind of nearby. The next morning the host apologized and mentioned something about calendars not syncing. He...

”DO NOT FALL FOR THIS PROPERTY. It may look clean and “luxurious” in the pictures, but our experience was completely different. Upon arrival, the host told us the room we had booked was suddenly unavailable and offered us a basement room for an EXTRA $70. We were exhausted and didn’t have the time or extra money to find another place, so we agreed. After leaving our things and going out to eat, the host called us twice asking how long we would be out and saying he had a “SURPRISE” for us. When...

”The house is very pretty and spacious, and we were able to enjoy our stay overall. However, there were some downsides. There was no oven, which was disappointing since we booked three nights and planned to cook. The kitchen was very minimally stocked no dish soap and almost nothing in the pantry so it made cooking difficult. The location is also quite remote, with limited food options nearby, and many places wouldn’t deliver to the area. The host was very strict about cleaning. We cleaned...
