Nestled in the quiet community of Ptarmigan Village is this beautiful 5-bedroom, 4-bathroom Cottonwood home that sleeps 12. Enjoy various community amenities, including an indoor saltwater swimming pool, outdoor hot tub, a dry sauna, and a playground next door. Located on the slopes of Big Mountain, the resort’s Express Chairlift is only a 7-minute drive away. With 3,447 square feet of living space, guests love having multiple balconies, 2 large soaking tubs, and an open loft.

Cathedral ceilings, large windows, and warm wood floors greet guests as they enter the heart of this 3-story retreat.

Downstairs provides comfort and convenience for friends and family, with 3 bedrooms and a full-sized washer and dryer in the laundry room.

Upstairs on the third floor, guests will find the remaining 2 bedrooms.

With on-site parking, exploring the surrounding area—including City Beach (15 mins.), downtown Whitefish (15 min.), and Glacier National Park (1 hour)—is fun!

Getting around Whitefish is free and easy via the S.N.O.W. Bus, a free shuttle service.

Glacier Park International Airport is only about 20 minutes from Whitefish, Montana so getting here is easy!

A 4-wheel or All-Wheel drive vehicle is needed from December through April.

* No smoking, vaping, pets, or parties permitted at this property. Guests shall not have parties or events at the home which include but are not limited to bachelor & bachelorette parties, golf parties, and weddings.
Check-in on 12/25 is not available.

The house was great for our 2 families. The adults slept upstairs and the 4 teenagers downstairs. It was very roomy and the kitchen was fully stocked. The ski resort is only 7 minutes away and downtown whitefish is really wonderful with lots of shops and restaurants. They even cleaned the walkway for us when it snowed!
Lots of deer!

Great home for our large party of 10! Our only issue was that the house didn't have air conditioning and we happened to be there when temps were in the 90s. I realize that's probably not normal but just an FYI if you are there in the summer. I'm also not blaming the owner - it's our fault for not realizing that to be the case. Otherwise it was great for us; the amenities are great and the resort being so close was awesome as well. Even in the summer, it was a great place to visit and soclose for us to visit Glacier. Thanks again for sharing your beautiful property.

Great place to stay with large groups. Lots of room and large common areas. It is well supplied with aĺl the basic needs for your stay. We enjoyed time with family having meals together, relaxing on the porch, and playing games in the large family room. Whitefish is a great town for shopping and dining, it is also an easy drive to other areas of interest. We spent time hiking, biking, swimming, going to Flathead Lake and Glacier National Park.

Winter Wonderland Vacation!

The home itself was ideal, and it definitely felt like we were in a winter wonderland cabin with great amenities. That said, there was some initial trouble getting into the house with the touchpad keyless entry and being unable to reach anyone about it for quite some time. However, the property management folks were very apologetic and compensated us for the inconvenience. Our only other complaint was some sort of bug infestation in the master bedroom. It was sprayed, although that did not immediately resolve the issue, which was very unfortunate.

Misleading listing

The listing implied that it could sleep 12 people. I guess that was true, but I incorrectly assumed it also meant the 10 of us staying would be able to take hot showers. Unfortunately, the hot water would only support about two to three showers a day. I notified the management company and they said a technician would be sent out but I never heard from or saw anyone in the 8 days we stayed.

Nice Getaway

Beautiful area, only a few minutes drive from Whitefish Mountain Ski Resort and only about an hour drive from Glacier National Park's West entrance.

Family vacation

Cabin was beautiful! Bedrooms all good sized for 5 adults. The kitchen is completely stocked with great cookware, variety of spices, coffee, filters, lots of extras. Ryan the caretaker was very nice and super friendly. His little dog “ Bea” is very friendly too. It was a wonderful vacation!

Woodland Retreat

Wonderful large lodge home with plenty of room for our group of 7. We loved the open great room with cozy fireplace. The kitchen offered plenty of room and was fully equipped. The outdoor decks offered a quiet place to relax amongst the trees. All of the bedrooms were comfotable and large. We enjoyed the clubhouse with pool and fantastic outdoor hot tub and patio. You couldn't ask for better accommodations. I have been traveling to Whitefish and Glacier NP for years for the natural beauty of the mountains and numerous hiking trails. Such a great location with a short drive into town and 30 minutes from West Glacier.

Ptarmigan village

We enjoyed our stay in Ptarmigan village. The house itself was gorgeous. The location is great - close to both Whitefish and Big Mountain. We used the Villages’ pool and hot tub daily, and appreciated the private beach access on Whitefish Lake. The only downside was loud dogs barking early in the morning next door. Overall would highly recommend this property!

Perfect for family reunion

We travel every year and have never stayed at a home with such a complete kitchen. Didn't even need to bring our slow cooker. The rooms are furnished exactly as pictured and very clean. With 4 families totaling 11 people, there was room for all of us to eat at the large table. Yet with many rooms and balconies, we could spread out comfortably. Thank you for opening your home to us. Nobody was ready to leave at the end of our 5 days.

Wonderful Trip

We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Montana and the house was perfect for our needs. We especially loved the long kitchen table so we were all able to sit together. We would definitely rent this house again and the communication and customer service was remarkable.

Perfect Whitefish Mountain Escape!

Great location on the Hill, so close to the ski resort and easily accessible to town. We were a group of old friends looking to get together for the first time since the pandemic started and this was the perfect place. Large enough to spread out but intimate and perfect for spending time together. Would love to come again!

Mini-reunion

We stayed with 3 couples, all college friends from 40+ yrs. ago. Six other college friends stayed in nearby condos, and this house became our gathering place for dinner and socializing in the evenings. It was perfect for that, with lots of space and a large kitchen, and especially with a dining table which could accomodate all 12 of us. Even without air conditioning during a very hot summer, we had a wonderful stay.

Great for family vacation

We had three generations under one roof. There were enough bedrooms and floor space for kids in sleeping bags that all had enough room to sleep comfortably. The dining area was also ample for our crew. We were there during the 'heatdome' so the fact that the property doesn't have AC was a bit challenging -- but most properties in Montana do not have AC so that was just our bad luck. We made good use of the driveway for cornhole and of the private beach at Whitefish Lake. Overall, it was a great property for our large family. I would recommend it.
