Beautiful setting, terrible management — not worth the price
I booked this trip at Mangrove as a birthday gift for my widowed mother, hoping to lift her spirits. Before arrival, the hotel emailed asking how they could make our stay special. I replied explaining the occasion, but no one ever responded. I also emailed about car service and was ignored again. For a resort that presents itself as luxury, the lack of care and communication was disappointing.
The room was beautiful, but the service was consistently poor. We had to ask five times for bottled water (the mirror even warns not to drink tap water), and each time staff said “they must have forgotten.” The in-room phone and WhatsApp number for assistance were useless — no one ever answered.
Dining was the biggest letdown. You must reserve all restaurants, and the only slot we got at the Turkish restaurant on the RIF side was 9 PM. When we finally sat down, 75% of the menu was unavailable. As a vegetarian, I was left with almost nothing to eat besides a tiny salad. My mom’s drink was forgotten six times, our food arrived after everyone else’s, and her dessert — melted ice cream dripping off the tray — was still served while others got proper dishes. It was careless and disrespectful.
Throughout the stay, bars constantly ran out of basics — beer, mint, lime — and staff just shrugged. For an all-inclusive, that’s unacceptable. Mangrove is a beautiful property, but the service and management completely ruin the experience.
