Blanco River Fun

Three generations of our family, from 1-78 years old enjoyed our long weekend at the Great Escape. The pool, river, game room, and the long porch with the rocking chairs were so appreciated. There was Plenty of seating for meals for the 14 of us. Beds were great. We got to see several deer, ground squirrel, skunk, fox, and raccoon. The kids loved the minnows in the river and our oldest grandson walked to deeper water and caught and released several fish. Thank you for a lovely stay. Ed, Carol, and extended family

Great family getaway space

Great location, well appointed, quiet and serene setting.Our family included all ages, from toddler up to grandparents, and was enjoyed by all. Highly recommended for access to groceries, wineries, hiking, shopping, and area amenities.Room to spread out and relax by the river, on the porch, by the grill, or by the pool!

Wonderful stay for large family group

We had a great long weekend at this house. It is in a lovely quiet neighborhood but also so close to town that quick runs to HEB or wherever are very easy. The place is amazing - easy access to the Blanco River out the back door, five bedrooms and four full baths in the main house and another bedroom and full bath in the outbuilding/game room, pool, hot tub, pool table, retro arcade video game, shuffleboard, TVs, outdoor gas grill, comfortable furniture, rocking chairs on the back porch so you can watch the deer wander along the river, two laundry rooms, plenty of towels for the pool and fleecy throws, the list of amenities and thoughtful touches is so long there's no way to list them all. And the property manager Shiloh was so friendly, helpful, responsive, and communicative! We had no issues, but if we had I know she would have fixed them right away. This is the perfect place for a large family or group of friends to get together and have a great time in Wimberley.

Nice Getaway

The house is very accommodating - lots of beds and a spacious dining area. Between the game room, pool, hot tub and river there is plenty to do. One pre-teen, two teenagers and several adults were all entertained.

Mini Family Reunion

Perfect property for a family get together. Great views, wildlife, proximity to town. Plenty of room indoors and out, highly functional kitchen and the game room/xtra living space was big hit. Feed for the deer was a nice touch. Property manager answered all questions (hot tub controls, trash pickup etc.) very quickly. Great place!

Perfect Spot to enjoy the Hill Country

We rented this home for our yearly family vacation and it was excellent. The home is spacious, clean, and beautiful. It was close to downtown Wimberley and about a 20 minute drive to Canyon Lake. The pool was nice and it was great to be able to walk down to the Blanco River behind the property. We were there mid-July and there wasn't a lot of water running through the river but it was fun for the kids to see the little fish, etc. There was also a few families of deer that crossed through the back. The bathrooms appeared to all have been semi-recently remodeled and were super nice. Everyone agreed that we would love to stay here again!

Excellent for families

Our extended family stayed at Great Escape for the weekend and had the best time. If you’re looking for an excellent house with tons of space and fun activities this is the place for you. We would absolutely stay there again.

Perfect accommodations

We gathered for a family reunion and this property was perfect for us. Relaxing vibe and we grilled or ordered out our meals. We enjoyed seeing the river and the wildlife. Rooms were comfortable with just the right amount of privacy.

The Great Escape. Is perfect!

House was lovely with a beautiful yard, pool, cooking patio, and wrap around porches with plenty of amazing rockers to enjoy the Blanco river. Which was a little dry due to Mother Nature. Lots of wildlife travel though the yards awaiting for a treat. The house has plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate a large group. There is even a bonus game room with yet another bedroom and bathroom.

Perfect River spot

The house is roomy and comfortable. Just as advertised. Kitchen is so well stocked and lots of space for our groceries. Plenty of dining space and even a game table. Nice big comfortable bedrooms and updated and sleek bathrooms upstairs. The pool and bbq area are perfect for evening cookout and swim. The real kicker is the view of the river and the river spot. Perfect for kids to play in, and adults to lay in. Nice beach area to set up a tent and chairs and spend the whole day there. And the deer and foxes and birds are just mesmerizing. 6 out of 5 stars. I see why people hook the Great Escape over and over each year. We will come again too!

We have a friend’s trip every year in Texas and this year we stayed at the great escape. House is comfortable and well stocked. Plenty of space of 15 of us. Pool was clean and well maintained. The river is a short walk from the house which is great with little ones. It wasn’t flowing very quickly but not the properties fault. We even had a little grey fox playing around on the rocks near the house.

It’s a Great Escape!!

10 of us loved our getaway to The Great Escape!! Lots of room for us to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. About 10 minutes to downtown Wimberley. Lots of beds and bathrooms!!

Perfect Property on the River in Wimberley

This place has it all! Many bedrooms (and beds!) with comfortable mattresses and bedding. Great tvs and big room kitchen/family room. Excellent communication with management company. Nice pool and hot tub and river frontage! We loved it and will definitely return.

Family reunion

The property handled our multigenerational family re-union well. Although the weather did not allow for water activity, the pool looked like it would have been fun. Unfortunately, the hot tub would not heat over 90 degrees (but we didn't notify management to address). The gameroom with pool table, shuffleboard, and PacMan was great for the young ones. I imagine TV is not the main draw for this property, but on this football Saturday, the TV and main living room space felt a bit tight for the number of people (8 adults, a teen, and four under 8). The beds were softer than we prefer - and may need updating. That said, the property had a great porch; and the land around the home was great for walking. The Blanco river in the front was easily accessible - although only a small stream at this visit, it made for a peaceful vibe. Overall, would recommend.

Amazing Home & Host

Everything from communication, customer service, and well-thought-out amenities for a big group of 14 of us - was spot on. I highly recommend this host and home for anyone looking to have a long-weekend retreat. Beautiful scenery, tons of space, and a short drive to downtown to get out of the house. 10/10 in my books.

Cool Cousins Weekend

We are a group six cousins that try to get together with our spouses once a year. We are close to hitting the 10 year mark. We've been various locations with lovely homes. However, this one hit the spot! We will probably go back some time next year. The house was very roomy, ample bathrooms, kitchen was well stocked but could have used some salt shakers and additional pot holders. But if that's the only thing I think we're doing pretty good. I can't say enough about the outdoor area. We were in the rocking chairs on the back porch all day every day. We waited until the last minute to check out because we were still in the rocking chairs. Wimberly is such a neat little town. We needed more time. The only thing that could have made things better is more water in the river behind the property. But that is up to God. I highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Great family time.

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the grounds. The kids had a great time in the pool and splashing around in the river. I enjoyed the back porch and listening to the birds and sounds of nature. The house accommodated us well and was very comfortable.

Great for family with all ages in tow!

Something for every age group. The pool, kiddie pool, hot tub, and river…what more could you need for summer family fun?!? Grilling area with picnic table very handy for outdoor dining and gathering. Our group of four preschoolers DID NOT want to leave!

Loved it

I rented two houses with this property management company (wedding held in Wimberley) and personally stayed at this one. I loved that it was right at the river. Sitting outside on the porch in a rocker was just the right way to start each day. Communication with the management company was easy and they were very responsive.
