”Nice owner, even there is an IT system failure and my booking didn’t go through to them, they still get me accommodated. I arrived late around 2300, not able to find the property, call them and call answer straight away. Clean nice room. Very high standard for a guest house. I would say hotel grade as I have been a hotel manager in most of my career in hospitality industry. ”

”I had a great time here. Great location you're very close train station and where most buses go. It's about 20 minutes walk down to Bowness. Both Michelle and Christopher very frendly. I would recommend this guest house. Lots of bars and restraunts near by as well. ”

”What a little gem of a guest house this is, just yards from the shore of Lake Windermere opposite the marina and just a 20 minute walk from Bowness ( or a couple of minutes max by car ! ) Owners Susanne and Glenn are lovely warm friendly hosts and are very welcoming and more than happy to give you any help needed with info on the local area. The guest house is bright and beautifully clean with a slightly 'chintzy' decor, but at least it has character rather than the sterile corporate identikit...

”Booked as a short stay for our wedding anniversary. I've seen this property many times as we've walked between Windermere and Bowness and been intrigued by the waterball outside. Didn't actually realise it was this hotel when I booked. We stayed in a lovely suite with an outside hot tub, a steam room,small sitting area and jacuzzi bath, as well as separate shower room. ”Our stay at Thornbank couldn't have been better. Jane and mark were wonderful hosts. The hotel was easy to find. Impeccably kept and had all the amenities you need. You could book breakfast and a variety of options were available. The lication was great perfevtly placed halfway between windermere and bowness for places to eat. The frontage of the house was beautiful with lots of flowers too which was lovely. We had a great time and would highly recommend”
