”I booked 3 nights, but ended up staying a week. Place is nice, clean, cosy, staff superfriendly, surroundings very beautiful and peaceful. Kitchen is well equipped and there is lots of space. Dorm room was warm enough for me, I find most of the NZ hostels too cold on winter time. Moana Lodge is truly a home away from home and good place to stay if you need a break from busy Wellington. Only thing I wish to change is that they should have unlimited wi-fi., altough I did get as much those 1GB...

”Staff were nice to deal with. Rooms are basic but it was what we wanted. Bed was very nice to sleep in and there was no noise from other units. Units are well off the road so no noise there either. Having units so far from the road makes parking so much safer for your car overnight. Would stay here again when in the area.”

”I really enjoyed my stay. The Bucket Tree is very iconic, with colonial style architecture, lovely park-like surroundings and that giant bucket-shaped tree in front. I arrived in the middle of a heavy rainstorm, so really appreciated the warm and cosy room. I had a separate bedroom with a very comfortable bed. Beautiful kitchenette and bathroom. Everything was lovely and clean and the service was great. I stayed for two nights and my room was cleaned each day. Would definitely stay here again....
