”A gem of a place. Breakfast was delicious and food cooked to order. Added bonus is the owner is a chef. You have the opportunity to a delicious evening meal cooked without the need to drive somewhere.”

”Beautiful building and property. Spacious rooms with decent wifi, fridge, fan and comfortable chairs and bed. Good restaurant in the building too. Enjoyed the critters in the yard: cats, peacocks, Guinea hens, chickens, geese, and scrunchy faced pigs. Would have loved to have stayed longer. ”

”My wife and I spent two nights at the property in September and found it a very good base for the northern lake district. It is withing walking distance of Keswick and it is a very pleasant walk through the fields, so no need to move the car and search for parking in Keswick. Portinscale is a very pretty and quiet little village, with one nice pub. Craig and Clare were perfect hosts, very informative and friendly. Our only regret is that we should have stayed at least one more day.”
