Huoneessa on kaksi sinistä nojatuolia, jotka on sijoitettu vastakkain ja ne osoittavat kohti suurta ikkunaa, josta avautuu näkymä kivikkoiselle rannikolle. Ikkunan lähellä on pieni pöytä, jonka päällä on lamppu.
Tunnelmallinen huone, jossa on suuri ikkuna, josta avautuu näkymä rannalle. Huoneessa on myös sohva, nojatuoli, pieni pöytä ja lamppu.

  • Tervetuloa Shipwreck Houseen! Glenesslin ja sen ylpeä muotokuva roikkuivat takan päällä, laskeutuivat kallioiselle rannikolle Nehalemin lähellä, Oregonissa. Tässä kodissa on pala alkuperäisen laivan talteenotetusta puusta, mikä antaa kodille nimen. Kun mestarimaisemmista näkymistä kallioille ja valtamerelle on muualla, on helppo nähdä mitä kokeneet merimiehet! Shipwreck House on eteläpuolella upeasta Yachatsin kylästä ja tarjoaa ainutlaatuisen pohjapiirroksen seikkailunhaluisille. Sisäänkäynti etuoven kautta oleskelutilaan, ikkunat talon länsipuolella, iso ruokailutila, keittiö ja aamiaisenurkkaus.

    Portaikko olohuoneesta nousee ensimmäiseen kahdesta makuutilasta. Tässä toisen kerroksen tilassa on kaksi makuuhuonetta ja kylpyamme, joissa molemmissa queen-vuoteet. Toinen portaikko keittiön vieressä johtaa upeaan oleskelualueeseen, josta on laajat näkymät pohjoiseen ja länteen, mukaan lukien Yachatsin valot yöllä. Tässä olohuoneessa on kaksi vuodesohvaa, taulutelevisio ja vieressä toinen makuuhuone, jossa parisänky ja jaettu kylpyhuone. Takakerroksen alakerrassa on Master-sviitti, josta on näkymät etelään, sekä oma kylpyhuone. Makuuhuoneen vieressä on makuuhuone, jossa kaksi erillistä vuodetta.

    Peruutukset ja palautukset: Varauksen kokonaiskustannukset, joista vähennetään 10% palvelumaksu, voidaan palauttaa 45 päivää ennen sisäänkirjautumista. Sisäänkirjautumisen 45. päivän kuluttua hyvitystä ei suoriteta.

    Sisäänkirjautuminen milloin tahansa klo 16.00 jälkeen saapumispäivänä.

    Ikävaatimus: Ensisijaisen rekisteröityneen vieraan on oltava vähintään 26-vuotias. Suurimman osan vieraista on oltava yli 25-vuotiaita tai aikuisten valvonnassa olevia lapsia.

The house was awesome with some areas needing improvement: - Several utensils (spatulas) in the drawer were dirty. - Window cranks broken or missing.- TV upstairs was confusing to operate. - Most all the beds were very comfortable.- The host was very responsive. Can't beat the location and the house was awesome even with some of these very minor issues.

A great place to watch the migrating whales. Saw dozens of spouts, and glimpses of the big, beautiful mammals from the back yard of rental. Says it sleeps 8, and it means 8 adults (full-sized beds, not make-shift cramped quarters). Spacious sleeping and gathering areas. Several bed/suite areas for privacy. Plenty of towels, TP, paper towels. Everything you need in the way of kitchen appliances, dishes and utensils to prepare meals. Deck area was closed for use, so bring your deck/camp chairs (sidewalk area and some flat areas in back yard to sit). Great price for this ocean-front, historic rental. Would highly recommend and will be back. Management was excellent to work with, very timely with responses. Pups loved taking trail down to beach.

Great stay!

This is a fun quirky home in a beautiful spot. We enjoyed the peace and tranquillity. The views and tide pools are amazing! Great management company and great communication.

Memorial Day weekend stay

Stunning property. Beautiful views and beautiful location. The house is quirky but has everything you could want, lots of comfy beds and AMAZING views. Check in and communication from property manager was great.

Relaxation

My husband and I needed a break from planting so we went to the coast for a little relaxation. This was a great spot for exploring tide pools and watching the right waves crash. The house was in a great location close to amenities and very clean. We were able to bring two of our dogs and they had a great time. Thank you.

Booked this place for two families (4 adults/4 kids). There was plenty of space for all of us. It was nice to have some of the rooms separate from the others with a central location between the two (kitchen/living room). The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, and had plenty of blankets & pillows. Daylight basement was a little off, but we didn't spend much time there. Overall, we would certainly stay here again. The views, location and proximity to trails/towns was perfect for the coast. Positives: - Number of rooms/beds- Seating- Overall Location- Views (saw some whales first day there)- Parking- Location to town- Quiet at night- Parts of the hose seemed newly renovated - All appliances workedCons:- Had some mouse visitors each night that we could hear, saw one. They were small and didn't leave a trace, but, could hear them. (Given the location and style of house, this is probably inevitable).- Kitchen items were a little lacking, few bowls and few baking items. Made it hard to cook for 8 people. - Had a terrible smell the first 24 hours, probably related to the very new septic system. Those repairing forgot to fill the p-trap in the garage bathroom which vented into the garage until we figured it out and remedied. After that, there was no longer a smell. - Upstairs carpet was pretty stained. Again, the take away is that we loved this place and would return.

Lovely and inviting

We had a little issue when first attempting to use the key code but the property managers answered right away and helped us navigate the issue. The house was huge and very inviting. We had 4 couples that had all our own privacy. Great experience and will definitely be staying again. The view was just as magestic as the photos depicted.

The Shipwreck House offers a memorable stay with strong appeal for families and groups, but it requires significant maintenance to reach its potential. The layout is a standout, with a well-connected master suite ideal for families with young children and a spacious upstairs king room with a sitting area. Bedrooms are large, and the design balances communal gathering spaces with areas for privacy.The location is excellent—peaceful, private, and close to Cape Perpetua and Yachats. Large windows provide beautiful views, including sunsets and occasional whale watching. Charming details like the breakfast nook and unique “shipwreck” character add personality, and practical touches like plentiful towels are appreciated.However, the home’s condition detracts from the experience. The garage game room is worn, dirty, and uninviting, and the carpeting upstairs is heavily stained. Maintenance issues are widespread, including a peeling living room ceiling, damaged windows, and unreliable doors and locks.Cleanliness is also inconsistent, with dust, hair, and dirty windows. A musty odor and visible water damage suggest moisture issues, while limited hot water affects comfort.Improvements such as kitchen essentials, secured outdoor seating, and adding board games and speakers would enhance the stay. Most importantly, addressing maintenance, cleanliness, and security is essential. The home has excellent bones, but upkeep is needed to deliver a truly standout experience.

#1 DO NOT try to enter the driveway off 101 going North. Like the web site says only go SOUTH from Yachats and after the SCHOOL BUS STOP sign the drive is 100yrds on Rt.#2 The BEST room is upstairs JUST AFTER the garage door entrance : the MBR is in the back w/limited view but NO WIND while the sitting room has the BEST VIEW of the coast#3 You will have to SEARCH for Pots, Pans, Dishes & cutlery but it is worth the look see.we found the pots n pans in a inside corner turn around #4 The oven on CONVECTION will SEEM to NOT shut off, but let it run a few minutes and then OPEN THE OVEN DOOR and it will eventually shut offDO NOT TRY TO OPEN THE FRONT DOOR ... use the deck or garage doors.The main room living space is deceptive; sit at the window watching the ocean with a glass of wine and you will be lulled to sleep. It is a view better than TV !leaving scraps on the deck in the morning will bring seagulls vultures and crows but ALSO EAGLES ! We saw several 8 feet away on the deck from the kitchen & Main roomSweet home does what they say; available alwasy & for the DUMBEST call and very nice.Walk SOUTH along the lawn past the property down to another 'churn' and you can see the resident seals popping up to watch YOU !The views here are better than the advertised Cape Perpetua's Devil's Churn & Thor's Well as this ocean site has there OWN ! (not named but generically 'spouting horn')And the beds are TOO comfortable ... you might sleep through natures show !

Toss Up

This house sits on one of the most spectacular points on a famously beautiful coastline. You couldn’t ask for a more scenic location. The downside was this 90 year old house, while full of charm and character, is very beat up. I think the list of deferred maintenance is longer than the list of features.

Pre-Thanksgiving at the Shipwreck House

Two families of 4 - 4 seniors with 4 adult 'children' - so having 5 bedrooms (one with a King split into 2 Twins) perfectly accommodated our group. We received excellent support for a slow-to-warm furnace on the night of the 'Bomb Cyclone' - personal delivery of 3 portable heaters in addition to 2 on-site. After the 1st night, all was well with the furnace (a 4-night stay). We had all the kitchen supplies we could have wanted except for measuring cups - only a 1/2 cup measuring cup. It was an awesome venue, with immediate ocean access, and familiar venues / beaches nearby. Great follow-up on the heating issue (text messages - very reassurring). We'd definitely book again.

Family Vacation

We liked the uniqueness of the home however found several things that were not great. Pretty big ant problem in the kitchen, many doors didn't latch closed, windows we were told to close and lock didn't even have a knob to close them let alone lock them. The soaking tub that was in the listing was gone which was pretty disappointing. Electric outlets are in desperate need of updating. The views and agate hunting out front were amazing though!

Shipwreck House

We are amazed by the location, beauty, and the host's warm welcome, which includes a birthday card and two bottles of wine. The ocean views were incredible and the king and the queen beds were very comfortable. Our visit created memories which my family will always treasure. Unfortunately, the house 's maintenance has been deferred. One bedroom had a leak through the ceiling light fixture from which rain water poured and put one of the tall adult guests out of a private bedroom onto a short narrow living room daybed which he didn't appreciate. The host indicated this problem in a note at our check-in. Overall, we cherished out visit in this jewel of a house but we would have made different arrangements, if we had known the home had fewer available private sleeping accommodations.

Quirky, rambling beach house

Great, out of the way location with plenty of room -- both private and shared spaces -- and unbeatable views of the constantly crashing surf. A few things should be noted. The kitchen is MINIMALLY stocked -- one pan, no foil, saran wrap, or coffee filters (two coffee pots, though).The front door only stays shut with the deadbolt, which was a little annoying, while the latch from the house to the garage was literally falling out of the door. Two days before our trip, we learned a "maintenance issue" meant we couldn't use one of the bedrooms (the owner/company agreed to a discount to make things right). Other deferred maintenance included burnt out light bulbs and missing or damaged trim around door frames, possibly from forced entry (scuffs and marks around the front door looked like they were made by a crowbar). That aside, the price was reasonable for a February trip (the rental fee SUBSTANTIALLY increases for the summer), and we would gladly rent again.

Amazing ocean views, but house fell short of expectations.

The view is amazing—ocean, tidepools, seals, gulls. House is spacious; neighborhood, quiet. One house is nearby, but we didn’t see or hear anyone. Check in was easy via tablet that provided access to rental policies and local info. Property manager was easy to communicate with throughout the process. But there are issues with the house not apparent from the listing pics. The front door has no latch, only a deadbolt, and even when shut, you can see between the door and frame in places. Many windows are cloudy, obscuring inside views. Some smoke detectors were missing from their brackets, including in the master suite. Bathtub pictured in master suite is inaccessible, boarded over, with a twin-sized mattress placed on top of it. The master suite bathroom is accessible through two different bedrooms, but only one is lockable. Comfortable-looking chairs pictured in living room now reside in garage, in tatters, replaced by essentially dining chairs. Air hockey table pictured in the garage is gone. There were also housekeeping issues. Coffee mugs smelled terrible and required washing prior to use (made us question dishes generally). Many nonstick pots and pans were gouged and appeared rusted. I can’t comment on the condition of the grill because we didn’t use it. Teapot in a cupboard had standing water, as did the washing machine. There was a drawer full of clothing from a previous guest. Amazing views, somewhat underwhelming accommodations, but overall a positive experience.

Amazing property location and view of ocean

Once you find the property (definitely follow the e-mailed instructions), it is a breathtaking view and pretty much exclusive private beach right in front of the house. Not the easiest to access, but doable. The only problem we had with the house was not only was the stove not working (which they did inform us prior to our stay and provided portable electric burners), but we found that plugging in anything in the kitchen constantly tripped the breaker. It was extremely inconvenient to take the portable stove top burners and plugging one into the garage workbench and the other in the living room. Very hard to cook for a family of 11 when you had to run into the other rooms. Other than that, the house was amazing and we may still come back again if they can fix the electrical issue in the kitchen.

Spectacular Views!

We loved the views and spaces this place provided! We had a great time with family. We did miss the convenience of a stove top and the main shower and bath.

Quiet

If you want to avoid sheetrock and appreciate a house which fits with the location, this may be just the right thing.
