”We were the only guests in this sprawling property within the buffer zone of the Yala National park. The BBQ dinner under the stars was worth remembering. The whole property kept the entire electric generation system running for only 2 guests. The air conditioning was perfect and the view from above the canopy was very good. Mention must be made of Patisa and his team. The chef was wonderful with his breakfast and dinner. A great stay. Never felt unsafe as were the only guest on the day.”

”Staff did'nt know english and also rude. For dinner initially they told us that only 2 items are available. Only after another guest who was sitting in the next table mentioned a menu then they brought the menu.

”Great option for wanting to visit Yala. We stayed in the tent. Enough room
For two people. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom and toilet were the inside tent.
We were able to two safari on our one night stay. For our visit, we preferred the evening tour as seen a range of animals. MJ was a great guide
Food was good, nice candle lit dinner and interesting night walk

”This was the perfect place to stay for safaris to Yala National Park. We had a nice one bedroom cabin nestled in the woods. The staff was outstanding. Of course you need a security escort after dark. Which was easy. I called reception and security was at our cabin within minutes and escorted us to dinner and back to our cabin afterwards. ”Seemed the best hotel in the area. Room big with a terrace leading to the very attractive large pool with the lake and a tree house to climb. Monkeys about who were fun to watch. Breakfast more to Asian tastes than mine but French toast, potato’s, fruit and breads available.It was very quiet during our stay with more staff than guests! Good choice for Yala but recommend the wild edge restaurant opposite in the evening for a drink.”

J'avais résérvé une chambre mais a mon arrivée il n'y en avait pas alors on m'a proposé le dortoir au meme tarif se que j'ai refusé et aprés discussion j'ai obtenu une tente-chambre.
Trés bien dans la grosse savane mais prés de la grande route pas nécessaire du tout.
Personnel serviable mais on sans que l'argent et le but premier du centre.

”At first we were really excited to be ar Laya Safari but after another look the place looked like it’s dying. It didn’t help that there weren’t so many tourists there at the time. The deluxe room was quite nice but the lighting was poor and the white curtains had a lot of stains on them which had a lot of impact on the overall feeling. There were also a lot of short power cuts and many things had been left unrepaired.

”All in all, happy to stay here, just be prepared to do a lot of extra work to check-in.
The location is incorrectly indicated on Facebook, TripAdvisor & hotels.com, and is 10km north of Tissa. Easily accessed by public transit if you've got the correct address. Make sure they know you're coming, as they were unaware I had made the reservation.
If you can't find their phone #, try them on Facebook, or worst case scenario, go to to their Tile & Bathroom Shop, next to Sampath Bank...

”Hi, the property was nice, but in the middle of the rice fields. They did not serve dinner, so you have to take a tuktuk to town.

”Absolutely beautiful property. Right on the beach with easy access. Hanuman langur monkeys were right outside the room. They were so cute!
Room had poor lighting, but everything else was perfect! Hotel next door has a superb buffet- best i have ever eaten in terms of variety!
Access road was bad and there was no place for our driver to stay so he had to find his own lodging.”
