”We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Tugu Malang. The building is unique and gorgeous, and filled with very interesting decorations and artifacts. They offer a free guided tour of the hotel to explain some of the history about these decorations and artifacts. The staff is very attentive, the rooms are nice and have character, the hotel is environmentally conscious, and the food is excellent. The hotel is in the center of Malang and within walking distance of things to see such as Kajoetangan...
”Nice new hotel 2 km from centre of Malang, in residential area with no services or places of interest. Transport to centre by taxi, angkot or walking.
Modern clean room with good bed and shower, working wifi and a/c. Good Asian buffet breakfast; on 9th floor rooftop bar and restaurant with city vews. Nice big pool.
Instead of daily bottled water hotel could offer possibility for water refill.
Staff is very friendly and efficient.”

”A lovely old building, unfortunately a mass renovation was happening when i stayed. Despite that it was still a nice stay. The staff were great, the restaurant good and the room nice.”

”All was lovely. The staff were pleasant. Typical Javanese Breakfast of rice, noodles, tempeh and coffee was good. The room was nice and location was on a quite Street just off of Ijen with several local restaurants nearby. We were hoping to extend our stay for a week but the WiFi was nonexistent and we could not get cell service in the room. WiFi worked okay in the lobby just outside but because of this we found another hotel just around the corner.”

”We booked a room for 4 people on Expedia which had good reviews and a high rating, but when we arrived it was a 12 bedded dorm which we would not have booked. We emailed the property for clarification but we did not get a response.We feel we were not given what we asked for. On the website it stated that there was a 4 bedded room available but not a 3 bedded room or 2 bedded room. So we felt there were only 4 beds in a room. Could you explain how this has happened? It was noisy and very dirty...

”Wonderful boutique hotel. Very clean and comfortable room with great bed and plenty of hot water. There was a little construction noise from
The property next door but that won’t last forever. The area is a clean and quiet neighbourhood with some nice cafes and bars just a short stroll down the street from the hotel. Great freshly prepared breakfasts every morning and a very cosy stay. Highly recommended ”

”This is the best place to stay in the central city, especially if you want to walk around and enjoy the beauty of Malang. The property is in a quiet, lovely, neighborhood, but close enough to walk to car free day, the market at Oro-Oro Dowo, and the Malabar City Forest, as well as other places around Jalan Semeru. The rooms are spacious and super clean with beds with nice linens, the staff is always friendly and they treat guests with kindness.”
