”It is a true gem of a hotel. Beautiful buildings, both old and new, and a magical garden. Two residents lounges plus a library with pool/snooker table. Reception were efficient and friendly, and the room exceeded our expectations, with wonderful attention to details. I am not a breakfast lover, but there was plenty of xhoice, and frankly the best hotel breakfast I have ever sampled. ”Was in town to go to the Tank Museum. Lovely property that was a 5 minute drive to the museum. There was an attached restaurant that was very reasonably priced and a nice continental breakfast that came with the room rate. The rooms were clean and functional. The doors were charming and opened with an old school key. For better or worse, the doors were also older wooden doors and not terribly good at keeping the outside noise out. ”

”If you are looking for a vfm option in West Bay this hotel is the place. We had room 7 on the first floor, spacious, whirlpool bath and even a teapot. In our opinion 2 negatives for this room, the mattress was way too soft and the seagulls from 0400hrs, can't really do anything about the 2nd being near the sea!!! The breakfast is quality, great choice and only £10 per day. The hotel is not statebor modern if that is what you are looking for, however the atmosphere and staff make up for it.”

”Amazing country pub, warm welcome from Steve owner and buddy (dog). Clean room with comfortable bed and large shower room. Currently renovating the kitchen but breakfast served up in the top garden. Breakfast made to order and was delicious. We ate there three nights fresh pizza made to order in pizza oven using some produce from well stocked organic garden. The regulars and staff were so welcoming for a small village. Even met a kindered spirit originally from cleckheaton (Nick) the gardener....
