”Great spot for a traditional English experience. The staff are fantastic and helpful. I recommend the breakfast option; it has a great hot menu, and you'll get much more than just the buffet table. Rooms are clean and have all the essentials. The area is very central. It certainly appeals to an older demographic. If you're fine with that, this is a wonderful experience. Well maintained and managed.”

”Our room was well maintained and we like staying in unique, historic properties. A bath in the nook in front of the window seemed a little strange. We thought a sofa with a coffee table would be a more relaxing option after a day of sightseeing.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The state of the beer garden is a shame. It looked really run down albeit unique with a throne at one of the tables. If you struggle with mobility, the car park is between 5 - 10 mins walk away. Not a...

”We travelled as a couple with our dog. From arrival all staff were very friendly and welcoming and explained local walks (with a map) that we could do with our dog.
The room was exceptionally well kept and clean with lovely finishes. We had a balcony looking out over lush gardens and we could hear the river flowing which was beautiful.
We had dinner and breakfast both exceptionally and good value.
The lounge area was lovely and great place to chill. For an old mill it looks so well kept and...

been more helpful or pleasant. We hated that we could only stay one night. Hopefully we can return one day !”

”Enjoyable stay at what is perhaps best described as a fantastic restaurant with rooms. The restaurant overlooks the water and both dinner and breakfast were excellent. However our room was landside, with only a view of Irsha Street. Although small, the room and facilities were excellent. Fresh milk in the fridge is always much appreciated by us tea drinkers.”
