”Excellent stay at the lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean. Room very comfortable and warm. Good amenities. The staff were outstanding very polite courteous welcoming and friendly. Stayed for evening meal and it was excellent one of the best meals I have had at a restaurant. Breakfast excellent freshly cooked to order. Beautiful scenery in a peaceful setting If you are visiting Penrith area this is the place to stay ”

”We asked for a late check out and even though the hotel was absolutely empty - (we were the only two people at breakfast in a room that could seat 100) the hotel still denied a late checkout (personally I think 11am checkout is too early) so we were charged an extra £20 for a 12pm checkout. When the room costs £500 per night this is totally outrageous. The hotel was empty so it would have been a nice gesture to offer a 1pm checkout given at most high end hotels 12pm is standard. Very...

”It is impossible to overstate the standard of the Wensleydale Heifer. The awards affirm the restaurant quality and the standard of accommodation.
What they do not evidence is the attention to detail that every member of staff personifies.
This is the first opportunity we have had to stay at the Heifer, although we have eaten here before. The hotel was everything we hoped for and will become our "go to" place in the Dales.

”First impressions weren't great as there's a large sheet of wallpaper hanging off the wall, and a few issues with damp/paint peeling throughout, nothing a bit of maintenance can't fix. For the amount paid, and comparing to other accomodations stayed in, I wouldnt class it as value for money. The frying pan isnt an induction pan, so doesn't work with the hob. There's very little information about the property so the oven was tricky to use first time. The hot water ran out after 2 showers, which...
