”Beautifully converted late 1800s building. The rooms were spacious with very high ceilings. Probably 18 feet high. The Refuge restaurant had excellent food and lots of different choices. The Sunday Roast was delicious. Breakfast was a large buffet including all of the typical “full English” items along with many other options. Highly recommend ”

”Welcoming and friendly. Attractive place, comfortable rooms. Your under a flight path from Manchester airport with planes taking off every 15 minutes or so but it didnt bother us. We slept soundly.”

”The property felt as though it was maintained to a good standard and the staff at the wedding party we attended were efficient and absolutely on top of their game. I liked the useable outdoor space which was a bonus on a hot evening. Great venue. The breakfast - we had full English breakfast and it was delicious and of good quality. Just enough and not overfaced. Would I stay there again - absolutely. ”

”Ive stayied here many times, good for the price, areas of my room were slighlty tired especially the bed side tables. The tv in the room is incredibly small. Shower and bathroom, superb. Room 8 is near the exit which would be fine if the main doors had a soft close. Breakfast good. Overal id stay again, no major problems.”

”Lea Hurst is a fantastic place to stay , Quiet and secluded. The house is beautifully restored and the room was superb good views over the countryside,, Jen was a superb host and made us feel welcome in her home. Excellent breakfast and the canal path only 5 minutes walk through the garden. Good location for visiting all of the Peak District. Would highly recommend and can’t wait to return ”

”In an idyllic setting, an excellent base for holidaying around Matlock/Derbyshire . Everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack included a bottle of my wife's favourite wine. The owner checked to see if everything was to our satisfaction. Would certainly recommend it. ”

”I cant answer this question as the owner / manager would not honour our reservation despite me having a paid and confirmed Expedia itinerary. He was less than helpful and didn't really give a damn.”
