”We had a great stay. One of the best value hotels we’ve ever stayed in. Yes it could do with some TLC but for the price we paid, more than happy. Great breakfast and the spa was super.”

”Our accommodation was in a block beside the castle. The window was painted shut, beds were poor, a long walk to toilets and showers and no facilities in the room. The restaurant was closed. I'm ex military and have seen better army barracks.”

The breakfast was good the next day and in hindsight, we should have had dinner here as it all looked home made and reasonably priced. ”The hotel is quiet with extensive areas for guests. The Leisure suite is excellent with sauna, steam room and a spacious, well equipped gym. Breakfast has lots of choice although the options have definitely been reduced since we were last there 6-8 years ago. Parking is plentiful and the views across the valley are beautiful. The hotel is a substantial building and in places it's becoming a bit tired. However, we slept extremely well without any noise or disturbance. The limited staff are...

”We spent a lovely night at the B and B. Everything was perfect and they even left a G and T and beer in the fridge for us to enjoy and fresh milk in a jug. The beds were extremely comfortable and the water piping hot. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and our hosts could not have been more welcoming We will return again”

”Absolutely delightful hotel. Me and a friend booked a room each for the Hay Festival, and we couldn’t have been happier with our stay. The staff were wonderful; helpful, friendly, even showed us to our rooms. The location was great, not too far away but far enough that I’d was quiet and tranquil. The breakfast is well worth the money, as is the Old Barn pub across the road, where we ate that night. A fantastic stay, I can’t wait to return with my husband next time.”

”The best part was the breakfast, very good and very polite individual. The room was cold, no hot water to shower, no one around to solve the issue. All in house amenities not in use. No bar. No service, no contact. It's 2 miles from town, so taxi us essential. It's the sort of place that picture perfect... But you'll only go once. Sorry for the bad review, almost recovered by the polite service and lovely breakfast.”
