Venture to nearby Bowness-on-Windermere, 8 miles away, to stroll around Cockshott Point, which offers plenty of pretty picnic spots, or hop aboard a traditional steamer boat to explore Lake Windermere from its best watery angle. The authentic village charm and wonderful local shops of the captivating Lake District villages of Ambleside, Windermere and Grasmere can all be reached within 7 miles.
