Amelia Island Hotellit

”I think of a Ritz Carlton as an over the top experience but I feel the Amelia Island Ritz is underwhelming. With all resort fees, parking cost etc., the nightly room charge was $1400. That is no food or activity charges. We were disappointed their “Salt” restaurant is closed on Sunday and Monday so did not get to eat there. Other eating options are fine but not special by any means.”

”The resort is rather big and it can be hard to go around as the signs were not all that good. Luckily there was a shuttle between different locations. Room itself was nice and the view was great! :) ”

Details we felt would have made our stay more comfortable: more than two hangers, a dresser or place to hold 2nd suitcase items. More than just 2 bath, 2 wash cloths, and 2 hand towels in the room. ”Everything was excellent with the exception of the breakfast buffet considering the room rate. Sparse and cheap best describe the buffet which consisted of cold scrambled eggs, over cooked sausage patties and clumpy oatmeal. Only fruit offered were a few bananas and the bread selection was also limited. There were two waffle irons available but the crowd of people trying to cook something hot for their children made the wait too long. For a Marriott property I found this buffet substandard. ...

”We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay. Our king room on the first floor was very comfortable, spotless, had a large bathroom, and even a little back deck. The historic property was beautifully restored and clearly very well cared for by innkeeper Veronica and her team. Veronica's gourmet breakfasts were a huge treat, different every morning, and served with attention to every detail in the elegant dining room. Veronica was happy to share suggestions on activities and restaurants in the area....

”Property is amazing and home renovation and condition was outstanding, unfortunately we went on a cold weekend and the room was freezing (60°F) with no way to adjust temperature. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. These conditions resulting in almost no sleep.”

”Stayed at Hoyt House in early April. Weather was lousy. Everything else was great. Location is within easy walking distance of restaurants and stores of Fernandino Beach. Everything in the Inn was in top shape, and a lot of thought clearly went into making the guests comfortable. Umbrellas when it rained. A glass of wine in the afternoon. Plenty of places to sit witha book or other activity. ”
