Good location for museums & park
As a budget hotel in a very popular tourist area Kooyk Hotel was ok. Comfortable, clean bed, with bathroom for own use, and a friendly welcome on arrival. Remember to take flip flops or similar as our bathroom was a few metres down a corridor. Room was very small, stairs very steep and narrow (both the width of the staircase & the depth of stair tread) so tricky for anyone with limited mobility. Decor just seemed tired and only just about ok. Did not try the breakfast but breakfast room looked nice. Tram at Leidesplein about 5 mins walk (links including central station). Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum a pleasant stroll away (through the park, if you like). Nice bars & restaurants nearby.

Everywhere was clean, no problems there. It was a minimalist room with everything you needed for a comfortable stay. There was an area as part of the hotel to get food and drink at the appropriate times which was simple. Unfortunately due for time we were unable to partake on the breakfast (which was available for a reasonable price added, especially being in Amsterdam which can be quite pricey) but it sounded lovely. Homemade pancakes were an option that nearly tempted me to miss a flight. The hosts were attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable of the area. As well as just being generally a delight to chat to. For a private room/bathroom, options of breakfast, wonderfully friendly owners, basically in the centre of Amsterdam.. it couldn't have been any better. Would definitely come again.

Buena relación calidad-precio
La ubicación del hotel es muy linda y en cuanto al precio es muy bueno también. La atención del personal fue muy buena la verdad, súper majos todos. Hay que tener en cuenta que el chek in es hasta las 23 hs por lo que si se pretende llegar más tarde hay que avisar con unos días de anticipación ya que la atención no es de 24 hs. Lo malo que tiene es que no tiene ascensor y las escaleras son súper angostas por lo que se dificulta subir y bajar y más con las valijas. Además los baños también son chicos y en el piso donde estábamos nosotras había un sólo baño (y 2 duchas). La habitación es chica pero para dormir nada más está bien.

nous sommes arrivés à l’hôtel, et nous avons eu une chambre avec une fenêtre défaillante. un équipement de mauvaise qualité. nous sommes allés dans la douche et en revenant le propriétaire de l’hôtel était dans la chambre alors que nous avions pas encore fait le check out. Il se promène donc dans les chambres sans notre autorisation. suite à cette interaction, nous avons remarqué la perte de bijoux que nous avons signalé lors de notre départ. Il a prétexté que ce n’était pas lui. Nous souhaitons un dédommagement pour ce vol est l’état de la chambre. les cartes pour accéder à l’hôtel ne fonctionne pas correctement. Nous nous sommes retrouvés dehors durant la nuit à ne pas pouvoir rentrer.

Lo bueno: Muy buena ubicación. Zona segura, cerca de restaurantes, bares y puntos de interés, así como de transporte público. Lo malo: Pagamos una habitación privada con baño privado y resultó que el baño no está dentro de la habitación, hay que salir, caminar unos pasos y ahí está el “baño privado”. Esto no se especifica al momento de reservar, sino que te lo informan ya estando ahí. Además dicho baño no requiere llave, por lo que realmente cualquier otro huésped lo podría usar si así lo decide. Por otro lado, la TV no funcionó, nunca tuvo señal y al pedir ayuda al personal solo me indicaron que era problema de la zona. A pesar de que es un hotel libre de humo, la habitación olió todo el tiempo a cigarrillo (que se supone a estaba metiendo por algún lugar desde fuera). En resumen, es una opción viable por el precio, pero es mejor pagar un poco más por otro lugar. No regresaría.

i had the worst experince with these guests they brougth a dog into my hotel without permission they did not want the room type they booked and wanted to have all for a very small amount of money sorry i could not please you in any way and it would have been better for us if you had left on the first day i am very clear about the room type i sell and what is in the room we make rules regarding animals and aminities for a reason with regret we could not please these guests they should have booked and paid for four star material

Best feature is the location
The hosts were friendly. We expected a double bed, but received two twin beds pushed together. The exterior bathroom was down the hallway (not close). The small room did not face either the canal or a garden, but an air shaft. The location is good, with easy tram access.

Hotel classe 1etoiles mais propose beaucoup de confort, bons lits, calme, point d'eau dans la chambre. L hôtel était toujours très propre malgré le fait qu'il ait été complet toute la semaine et les douches/WC partagées. La situation est idéale pour visiter Amsterdam.

Ove good stay for what we needed
Travelling on a budget and stayed here as it was one of the cheapest hotels we could find in amsterdam that suited out needs. It's in the perfect location (everything is a short walk away), owner was really friendly and welcoming and made our stay enjoyable. Room was comfy and provided everything you need. Shared showers and toilets were always very clean and look new! Was really no problem sharing as was like they were our own anyway. All in all wouldn't fault and would recommend to other budget travellers

Afgelopen augustus ben ik samen mijn twee kinderen(9 6jr) te gast geweest bij het Kooyk hotel te Amsterdam. Bij binnenkomst kreeg ik meteen een opmerking over de goedkope deal die ik had en niet mocht mopperen over de prijs. Gelijk een bijzondere eerste indruk. De hotelhouder stond er op dat de rekening van de kamerprijs direct per pin voldaan werd en de touristenbelasting cash. Ik had geen cash bij me en mocht de volgende dag alsnog de EUR 12,80 cash voldoen. Dat het alleen cash kon en niet per pin vond ik vreemd en heb ik de boeking er nog eens op nageslagen. Daar stonden andere bedragen vermeld. Daarop heb ik ook de webpagina van de gemeente Amsterdam nageplozen aangaande toeristenbelasting. Bleek dat kinderen tot 16jaar niet toeristenbelasting verschuldigd zijn. De volgende ochtend heb ik de hotelhouder geconfronteerd met de discrepantie in bedragen. Direct werd meneer agressief van toon en beledigend in de bejegening. Nu kan ik wel tegen een stootje maar mijn kinderen waren geschrokken van meneers houding en gedrag. Meneer gaf aan dat ik het bedrag per pin kon voldoen alsook de transactiekosten. Vreemd want die dag daarvoor kon dit niet. Om mijn kinderen te ontzien heb ik betaald(zie bijlage) Meneer bleef raaskallen en tieren. Zo maakte hij ook enkele cynische opmerkingen tijdens het ontbijt over “bodemprijzen” en dat wij zijn dag hadden verpest en dat hij geen dief zou zijn ed. Hij wilde ook niets weten van die boekingbevestiging noch de webpagina van de gemeente.
