”Great staff friendly and helpful, nice relaxing atmosphere, very nice breakfast, only two very small suggestions would be nice to have longlife milk sachets or similar in the room save having to go down stairs and ask for milk,and could do with a shelf in the shower no where to put shampoo ect when showering”

”I did not get to stay at the OVO, I booked the wrong date (my error), but having paid Expedia for insurance that would alow me to make changes to the booking, the venue wanted to charge a handling fee that was 100% of the room cost. seeing that it would have cost me the full room cost on top of whatever the actual day would cost me I decided not to cancel and to book elsewhere.”

”The place is iconic and is a realistic representation of a Dales Coaching Inn. Situation is bleak sat in the middle of miles of rough Yorkshire Moors.”

”On arrival could have done with better signage as to where to park as we ended up parking at Forbidden Corner. Also not easy to find Reception and when we did find there was no-one there for 10 mins. Room nice, dressing gown and slippers nice touch. Had evening meal in the bar which was ok and staff were attentive. Meals on the Sunday finished at 5 and bar closed which was inconvenient. We were informed no staff on site again until Wed. We couldn’t boil kettle Mon morning as electric went off...

”A warm welcome from all staff for us ( & our Dalmatian who was spoilt rotten!). Food superb and room clean & cosy. Easy beautiful walks on the doorstep. Perfect! ”

”I booked this for a short one night stay on a budget. The property is not up to modern standards but as long as you are not fussy is ok. The owners are a lovely, helpful couple. Unfortunately it is next to a pub and on a Friday night there was loud, live music and there were still people out on the main street being noisy. Luckily I had some ear plugs with me.”

”From check in to check out the staff couldn’t have been more helpful. In fact, from when you pull into the car park you get the feeling it’s a special place. The building is a beautifully well maintained old building with some rather stunning modern extras. The room we had was spacious and beautifully presented, with a very comfy bed! ”Middleham is a beautiful place to stay and to enjoy walking and a bit of wild swimming. The place oozes character. Richard III boasts age and character, so don’t stay here if you want modern. No breakfast included which we hadn’t checked, but there is a lovely tearoom but 2minutes walk away, racing stables close by so plenty of thoroughbreds trotting through the centre. I found the place delightful.”

”Very comfortable bed and very clean linens. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent food and service. Fantastic location just outside Settle. Would stay here again. New carpet and removing visible mould from grouting in shower as well as dog free rooms would have made this a 5 star stay.”

”What a terrific spot! The bar was comfy, and cosy; the room clean, and tastefully decorated with a comfy bed, and wonderful view of the viaduct and Whernside. And, the fish & chips - exceptional! For us, the staff made our stay, Will, Courtney, Angela, & Val, couldn't do enough for us, despite a very busy bank holiday weekend. Thank you, we had a great evening and a cracking breakfast to boot.”
