Ocean View

Ocean View is a modern light filled homestay with funky furniture, an open plan living area, where you can pull up a stool and chat over a coffee while enjoying the fabulous sea view. With decks at the front and back of the house you can follow the sun or the shade all day. Lunch on the back deck watching the ferry’s and boats go by, or dinner on the front deck watching the lights of the city and Sky Tower dazzle in the distance.

View views and views. You could sit there all weekend and watch the world go by down on the water below. From the moment you open the door, the ocean views will grab your attention and your holiday will begin! Start your break by looking at the 180’ views of the harbour and Te Whau Bay and be welcomed by the two islands in front of you.
Ideally located, just a short 10min stroll to the Kennedy Point ferry. If you’re heading to a wedding, you are just a short cab ride from Mudbrick and Cable Bay vineyards on the Oneroa side of the island, or equally close to the best of fine dining on the Onetangi strip.

On wet days there are board games and puzzles, turn up the heat pump and get toasty while watching your favourite TV shows or movies (we have Netflix) streamed onto a 55” 4K TV (via Apple TV) with fibre connection to ensure both gaming and movies run smoothly.

Decks out to the east and west both with spectacular sea views looking back to Auckland. Outside furniture, tables, and 4 burner hooded BBQ. Head to our local vineyard, Kennedy Point (4 min away), which overlooks the bay. Push on to a local cafe or bar in Surfdale (approx 10min away). Please note there are outside cameras for security, both front and rear entrance.
Close by attractions: 1 min from the car ferry terminal. Close to Kennedy Point Winery (great for lunches and wine tasting) and Goldie Winery. Close to the supermarket (only a 5 min ride). Alternatively, jump on the local bus (#501) which runs continuously between Matiatia and Kennedy Point, stopping at Surdale and Oneroa`s shops and restaurants.

If you can not travel to our property because of Covid Level lockdowns i.e. level 4 or 3, then we are happy for you to either transfer your booking dates to another time or get a full refund.
