Other than the slow checkin process then realising reception only checked in one of our rooms when we thought was both our rooms. I had to go back down stairs to check our other room in. Everything was excellent. The decor, dim lighting, complimentary water, comfy beds, veiws, superb restaurant food especially the kai, the use of Maori detailing and words throughout the hotel etc....til we came into an issue. Reception clarified breakfast was part of our booking for one (rm1) of two (rm2) rooms only. So I paid for room 1 so room two could have the breaky. Rm1 checked out early. When rm2 went up to breakfast they were told breakfast was not with the room booking. Even after explaining clarification from reception earlier that morning. My daughter and her partner could have paid for breakfast but felt embarrassed so left and checked out early. Once i landed in Australia and my daughter informed me of her dilemma I rang the hotel and they said they would investigate the matter and get back to me. Still know contact going on 3days. I am so disappointed. If it was a little issue I wouldnt make a big deal about it. Communication between reception and restaurant needs improving!
