”Excellent staff fantastic chef food was brilliant and plenty of it. Room was very warm and cozy we would recommend it to everyone. Lovely welcome and the lady that served us breakfast was amazing made you feel very welcome. See you soon again Parking free which helped.”

”Free parking comfortable clean beds. The was sum what a bit grubby really could do with a deep clean & a spruce up. Tv signal absolutely rubbish. Ok for a base just to get your head down. Staff are polite & pleasant. Greggs next door. ”

”Hôtel très bien situé, facilement accessible de la gare ou de la gare routière. Le centre ville n'est pas très loin non plus, les balades le long du canal sont plutôt agréables. Je recommande vivement cet établissement pour un séjour à Chester.”

”Ideal place for a quiet, relaxing stay. The staff could not have been any more helpful or accommodating. Excellent breakfast with plenty of choice, plus a fresh light bites menu available all afternoon and into the evening.”

”The hotel was under renovation and not providing any hot food only continental breakfast, as a diabetic I couldn't have the bread, yoghurt, cerials, jams or croissants. The continental breakfast were £15. We were not informed about the renovations before arrival, if we were we would have c. Cancelled. ”

”Me and my daughter had a lovely stay here. Breakfast was lovely too and Rebecca couldn’t of made you feel more welcome , lovely place to stay would definitely recommend!”

”Lovely pub, friendly staff. We only stayed 1 night but the rooms were very clean and had everything you needed. The breakfast was cooked beautifully and really tasty. We would have had diner there but unfortunately it was the Christmas market on within Tarvin that evening so no food was served other than a stall outside. Free parking for people staying in the pub. Within a 15 min drive into Chester - Wouldn’t hesitate to go back. An enjoyable if not brief visit. ”

”Wonderful stay and a lovely room. Had breakfast both morning - delicious though service was a bit slow and had to go ask for buffet table to be replenished - could ba bit more attentive. Had evening meal both nights and food was delicious and excellent service ”

”We had a comfortable stay at Upper House and slept well. Breakfast was enjoyable, and we also had dinner during our visit, the food was lovely and a real highlight. However, the room cleanliness was fairly basic and could be improved. The staff were polite but didn’t come across as particularly warm or welcoming. The property itself feels quite dated and would benefit from modernisation, as it seems to have remained largely unchanged for many years. It’s also worth noting that the venue hosts...
