This holiday apartment sits on the southwestern, slopes side of Bardonecchia, one of Italy\'s original ski towns and the snowboarding venue of the 2006 Winter Olympics. The Campo Smith base area, with its beginner-friendly slopes, ski schools and rental shops, is the nearest gateway to the resort\'s 100 km of pistes, which climb through the tree-lined runs of Colomion-Les Arnauds and Melezet, home of the Olympic halfpipe, while the high, panoramic Jafferau sector at 2,800 m is reached by free ski bus. Families will also love the Alpine Coaster by Campo Smith, a year-round hit just along the road.

Bardonecchia\'s centre offers a charming counterpoint to the slopes, with the cobbled lanes of the old town, the café-lined Via Medail, a weekly market dating back to medieval times, supermarkets and welcoming trattorias, all a short hop from the apartment. In summer the valley swaps skis for hiking boots, with flower-filled meadows and mountain trails on every side.
