”The staff was friendly and helpful. The hallways and public areas were clean and updated. Breakfast was good and better than your typical hotel breakfast. The rooms were clean enough but need updating. The housekeeping staff did a great job, but the carpet is old and worn, the furniture is old, the bathroom needs updating, etc.”

”The toilet in the room was broken when we arrived and needed to be repaired after we called down and complained. In the morning, while using the microwave in the room, we lost power in the room and they were not able to fix it while we were there. Overall for a 1 night stay, it was not enjoyable. Curious if we were put in that room, knowing the toilet was broken because we booked thru Expedia at a reduced rate?! I am a Hilton Honors member and not sure I will use Expedia again if this is how...

”The ceiling/floors are very poorly insulated for sound so you hear every step from your neighbors above. It is so loud it almost seems amplified in the wall space. It's a shame because the hotel is otherwise nice. But this sound issue is so bad it is almost a joke. Completely unacceptable.”

Just make sure the housekeeping understands what you mean if you give them a bagful of clothes to wash - mine got mistakenly dumped to trash when the housekeeper mistook the laundry bag as trash...”

There were adventurous and playful touches, including the secret hide-away on the first floor, behind a bookcase. Housing a hotel in a very old house is another terrific choice. The restoration process is clearly in progress; it's understandable that it's a long-term project. Drawbacks were largely fixable. ”Extremely dirty hotel. Even in the corridors You were able to spot all kind of dirt/dirtiness. I don't understand that how can a hotel have this kind of level of cleaning. Our hotel room was spacious but very very dirty. On the first night, I started to watch the ESPN, moved my feet around the sofa and suddenly a pill/drug dropped from the sofa table or something like that. There were hairs, dirt and different crumbles all over room floor. I can say that it wasn't the most pleasant stay over....
