Swimbridge boasts a delightful dog-friendly village pub serving food and drinks and only 200 metres from the cottage, and a restaurant serving seasonal dishes only 1 mile away. There are some lovely walks branching away from the village, along quiet, country lanes and scenic footpaths. You’ll also be just 8 miles from the edge of the walkers’ paradise of Exmoor National Park. North Devon is renowned for its spectacular sandy beaches and excellent surfing conditions, with nearby highlights including Saunton Sands, Westward Ho!, and Croyde, all within 16 miles. There are some fantastic family attractions in North Devon too, including Quince Honey Farm (6 miles) and The Big Sheep (14 miles). For shopping and eating out, head into the traditional market towns of South Molton (7.5 miles) or Barnstaple (4.5 miles).


The rural cottage is full of period features, including whitewashed stone walls, oak beams, and deep-set windows. These are complemented with traditional wooden furniture, pretty floral fabrics, and an array of cute accessories and homely touches. Steps lead to the front door of the cottage, and straight into the open-plan lounge/diner. Spend time here, after a long, country walk, warming your toes by the wood burner or watching a classic movie on the Smart TV. Rounding off this space is a sweet dining table set under a handy serving hatch. From the living area, a couple of steps take you up to the contemporary kitchen, which is equipped with everything needed to whip up hearty, home-cooked feasts. Upstairs, two tranquil bedrooms await – a double and a single – both with simple styling, original features, and countryside views. A refreshing shower room completes the accommodation.


Outside, to the front of the cottage, sip a morning coffee and plan the day’s itinerary as you enjoy the far-reaching views across the valley. The property has on-street parking, subject to availability.
