”Property has been upgraded downstairs and the restaurant and bar area are lovely as is the outside courtyard. When you go upstairs it’s apparent that an upgrade is still required. Our room - 3 - overlooked a very busy main road and the secondary double glazing did nothing to keep the constant traffic noise at bay. There are two windows in that’s room. And they are old and rotten. Triple glazed windows required. Carpets need replacing. Bathroom has been upgraded and is very pleasant but b&b...

”Location was lovely. The staff were fabulous working under very hot conditions. The hotel and room were lovely and clean. Would definitely stay there again.”

”Spent one night at the hotel. It is situated in a beautiful coastal town. The room was small, but clean and had a nice bathroom. We had an own entrance! The staff was friendly and helpful. We had an excellent three course meal at the restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, especially loved the fresh fruits! Nice that the hotel was so dogfriendly. Would love to stay at this hotel again :)”

”Decor is rather dated. We didn't mind too much. TV. Tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Complimentary bottles of water,tea/coffee bags, biscuits replenished every day. The bedding and towels were clean, white and fresh. Breakfast was lovely, great choice. I thought it was going to be a buffet style but the cooked food was served at the table. ”Great location, but room was in poor condition (mouldy tiles, discoloured toilet seat, cracks & holes in the walls) & not clean. If you have mobility issues, there are lots of steps.Breakfast available if arranged the previous day. Free parking on the road, but spaces are taken quickly”

”All areas very clean and tidy, lovely comfy bed with new cotton linens and towels. We stayed in room 8, perfectly clean and comfortable, rooftop view of next-door along with pigeons but that can't be helped, bit of a steep stair climb to top floor, but ok for us, good selection for continental breakfast, perfect location and parking opposite to explore wells, we stayed the 1 night but would stay again if exploring other locations nearby”

For us it didn’t quite meet our needs as our dog couldn’t manage the staircase & although we thought we had a shower and separate bathroom we only had a bath. Hot water is at a premium here we found & lacking in water pressure. But truly a great venue if you wish to unplug, & chill. One recommendation I would make, to help dogs relax. Is to the make the gardens private with privacy screens. The dog next door was barky & uneasy...

”The grounds and pool were absolutely amazing, we even used the boat on the lake. Gardens and grounds beautifully maintained so pretty just to walk around. We had a lovely relaxing time.”
